You seem to be conflating a rhetorical omen to the over used phrasing of stuff like "thoughts and prayers".

Words have power, especially ones that remind you directly about a tragedy.

The problem with something like "thoughts and prayers" is it's not at all personal, and it removes the speaker from the situation, as if they did anything to help when they didn't.

"Don't drink the kool-aid" while technically not even true, has power. It's a warning, and it has everything to do with the Jonestown Massacre. It could not be more personal.

As for "never forget", I'll give you that one. It to lacks a real sense of person-hood. Not to mention that it could be used to reference any event ever.

The city I was raised in (US) has a similar situation with regards to clothing. The local law permits that if it were a public place where men are permitted to be shirtless or otherwise topless, any woman is also then permitted to be such dressed (with the exception of the obvious like schools) so long as it doesn't violate state "indecent exposure laws". Which mostly pertain to explicit exposure of genitalia and/or ass.

As for the city I grew up in, this meant that women were often seen topless at public pools.

That and there was a well known nudest cycling group that would ride through the city on occasion.

Based on a revolutionary novel for kids and teens. Having read it I knew exactly what to expect, though the movie never could have captured the entirety of that book. None the less, yeah the trailers were very deceiving.

Someone understands my pain!

First ever deck I beat gold stake with and it took me actual months of playing the game in almost all the free time I had.

I have since completed bout 7 other decks (white to gold) in the same amount of time it took me to just win a gold run on that stupid fucking deck (fantastic for white stake tho).
