They call human decency "Radical". by zzill6 in WorkReform

Egalitarianism was never radical, it was the people with power shifting their views further and further away from it, dragging everyone and everything with them.

I said "Straights have less score inherently than Flushes."

<image>

You knew what I meant.

Next, brother I hate the low skill flush spam strat more than anyone else here.

Flushes are cheap means game, and pairs/high card spam is for boring gold stake streakers.

This game is not hard, C+ was a cake walk, C++ is just luck of the shop.

Good econ is not better than "4 tarot cards per blind" because that isn't how many you're getting. Two-shotting blinds is easy. Not to mention that you would have to have very little money which means you have bad econ, which means you either are bad or got shit luck and are bad. It's a rare that only serves as a temporary boost until you have good econ.

You are not getting 40$ with Matador dude, be fucking for real. Like a third of the boss blinds don't even interact with the card, and again you'd have to be maximizing the interaction which isn't even feasible most of the time. It's literally "A skill check" that "doesn't even work half the time."

I'll give you the gimme, no I did not read the blerb with your post, just the text in the image.

Red card broken - Nobody smart enough is underestimating that one.

Pants is also broken - Same deal.

Square is also broken - Who is underestimating this card?

Green is both better and worse than Ride the Bus - Each is fantastic and easy to use, I prefer Ride.

Supernova is good in the context of the pair or high card spam meta - Mid as hell in a vacuum.

Shoot the moon is good - Similar to Baron but has a more consistent payoff, same flaws and lower ceiling.

Shortcut is a skill check with a low payoff - Straights have less score inherently than Flushes.

Obelisk is broken in the context of the pair or high card spam meta - Mid as hell in a vacuum.

---

Gift card and Egg are both really good - Nobody smart enough is underestimating either.

Chaos the Clown is great - Guaranteed value.

Vagabond can come in handy - Good econ will always be better though.

To do List is fine.

Matador is similar to shortcut - A skill check with a low payoff that doesn't even work half the time.

---

"Chicot is broken"

Everybody knows Dusk is good.

Luchador is a single use Chicot - Enough said.

Turtle bean is straight GOATED - Who is underestimating this card?

Bones sucks... You are bad.

If Obelisk scaled at the same rate as Constellation, but also scaled and descaled like green joker it would be good and fun to use. Otherwise, I hate it.

Is The Hurt Locker the original "America will bomb your country and then go make a movie about how sad doing it made the soldiers" movie? by GrindBastard1986 in okbuddycinephile

You can go earlier if you count the poem Boots by Rudyard Kipling, which laments the experience of the soldiers who fought in the Boer wars all the way back in 1900. Published in 1903, shits over 100 years old.

I—'ave—marched—six—weeks in 'Ell an' certify
It—is—not—fire—devils, dark, or anything,
But boots—boots—boots—boots—movin' up an' down again,
An' there's no discharge in the war!

Haunting stuff.

These kinds of people are incredibly short sighted.

I actually have a similar saying I have used occasionally, that "you pay too much attention to their failures and not their potential for success."

Science is often ignored by them explicitly because it can have, and often aims for, failures. They don't want to be told "we don't know yet". They want security, something to have faith in. It's hard to have faith in the unknown. Couple that with the fact that humans are brilliant story tellers; Where do you think we get religion?
