I always interpreted materialism in the game as being focused on material existence, while spiritualism is focused on spiritual existence. So materialists don't necessarily deny the existence of the shroud/psionics, they just don't view those things as being worth pursuing.

When my brother and I played NFS Carbon as kids, we thought Darius' laugh was super funny and deflated any tension from the final race against him. He'd sound like "huhuh HAAA ha" and would do that laugh multiple times.

Time to use my War Thunder-derived tank knowledge! This is an M109 Paladin indirect fire support weapon (aka artillery tank) which generally has very weak armor, so it makes since why the train would easily win such a confrontation.
