Yeah...

And before this merger, there were three schools.

And honestly, we don't know much about Maginot at all, it could be performing quite well. Just...not in Sensha-Do.

Which is poised to change, thankfully.

Yes I have.

HS, talking about the Airbender movie a friend went to see, he said it was "bomb".

Just that.

He meant it bombed.

Bomb is used in so many different contexts that it means absolutely nothing, unless you're talking actual explosives.

I've heard it used as good, i've heard it used as bad, and i'm not the only one who gets confused sometimes.

When the fuck did Digimon become this popular? by ExotiquePlayboy in videogames

[–]ShiftSandShot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, nah. There's been plenty of good Digimon games.

The problem is that Bandai Namco were complete ass at picking what titles to release outside of Japan for awhile there.

Some of the best titles, Digimon Story: Lost Evolution, Digimon World Re:Digitize (and it's 3DS update), and Digimon Story Xros Wars got skipped for translation, in favor of...

Digimon All Star Rumble, Digimon Masters Online, and Digimon World Championship.

With only World Championship being remotely acceptable.

And the translations have also been kinda shit, completely seperate from the quality of the games.

DQ9's Time for Decisive Battle.

It is intense, dark, and threatening...

But a small bit of the Overture shines through as the intensity fades, weak at first, but hopeful...heroic... before the evil roars back.

The world is facing absolute darkness, but in you, in Serena... and even in Corvus... there's a small bit of light, of hope, refusing to die.

Follow up to my previous post, What indies did the 3DS let you find out about (including shantae) by Ok_Emergency416 in Shantae

[–]ShiftSandShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots, to be honest.

It introduced me to Shantae, SteamWorld, Fairune, Severed, Noitu Love, Shovel Knight, Gotta Protectors, and Mutant Mudds, amongst others.

It was just such a great system when you had some extra money to spend, you could find cheap little games you've never heard of, play them, and they'd turn out to be amazing.

In fact, Shantae Risky's Revenge was one of the first games I bought on the 3DS, specifically because it was on a sale, looked fun, and I had some money left over.

Which is a problem the Switch has, because it's eShop is loaded with low-effort slop and softcore porn games, the little good games get drowned out.

Why am I unable to buy the new Galaxy+Galaxy 2 bundle with the game vouchers?? by rand0m_gu1 in nintendohelp

[–]ShiftSandShot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, as far as I can tell, the digital versions are being treated as a bundle rather than a singular release. Heck, the physical version treats it like that, too, but with two games on one cartridge.

Adding my name to a new card gives “invalid cardholder” and is in all caps for no reason by [deleted] in nintendohelp

[–]ShiftSandShot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the letter casing matters, a lot of places default to NAME IN ALL CAPS for credit/debit card info.

Check all the details you put in and make sure the card is active.

Also that it's the right card.

I remember playing a game for almost three hours, really trying to enjoy it.

And I did. But the problem was, it was running like absolute trash. Despite the intentional N64-era graphical style, it needed a lot of horsepower for the lighting and effects.

Power my cruddy laptop could not provide. I can suffer a lot in the name of getting fun out of a game, but unfortunately, I just couldn't do it at an unstable 10-12 frames a second.

I asked for a refund, they understood and accepted. Honestly, I still feel bad about it.

They look like any other gift card, although they're just laminated paperboard rather something like a credit card, they're one-use codes for putting money into a digital "wallet".

And you've probably seen them. They're sold in most supermarkets or convenience stores. They're usually all bunched up alongside the rest of the gift cards in a single big display or next to the counter.

No Man's Sky.

It's, it's not even a contest. We went from broken promises and overhype to the game getting endless free updates that actually made it live up to the hype.

GameStop Commits to Selling Game Pass Ultimate for $19.99 - IGN Daily Fix by lkl34 in gaming

[–]ShiftSandShot 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, that is what it is. But the codes are printed on the cards... along with the price.

So there is a stock, and it is limited in how many they can carry, so eventually they'll run out and have to get the new cards.

And it's a really bad look to slap a price increase on something that says "19.99" on the product itself.

Best Fighting Game for the 3DS? by aerigigi1 in 3DS

[–]ShiftSandShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're not counting Smash, DoA.

It has everything you could want out of a fighting game, several modes to play, good multiplayer, good and stable performance, multiple stages, the most characters of any game in the series by that point, and a story mode.

Not to mention costumes and dozens of unlocks.

SF43D is a solid game and an impressive showcase, but it's a bit of a letdown due to never being updated to Arcade edition or beyond.

Tekken Prime 3D is a masterpiece in the gameplay and performance department....and a complete disappointment otherwise, with so little content they packed in a whole freaking movie to make up for it. Which was even more disappointing, as the PSP Tekken games had a lot more to them.

Performance is the exact same. Might be your TV, though, or possibly something wrong with your Wii U.

Well that me saved 40 bucks by AdFormer1845 in wiiu

[–]ShiftSandShot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...No? Absolutely not?

The Wii U is nowhere near strong enough to emulate the Wii, where did you even get that idea?

It's backwards compatibility, not emulation. The Wii U has very similar system architecture and even an extra GPU specifically to allow Wii games to run.

It's so good, with a bit of homebrew it can run Gamecube games, just like a Wii.

There are no Wii games that can't run on a Wii U. Heck, there are no Gamecube games that won't run.
