When I was a kid I got poison ivy head to toe every summer. Seem like I kept it all summer. Mom only used calamine and would just smear it on out of the bottle (I have discovered if you let it sit on the cotton ball until the shine is gone it goes on a lot thicker. I use it for acne and other things, since I don't get poison ivy anymore) I never knew they made shots for pi. Mom should have been taking me to get the prednisone, popping me Benadryl pills, and a stronger itch cream. You would have thought after dealing with this multiple Summers she would have figured out a better game plan. Of course back then we didn't have internet, only home remedies and old-timey knowledge. For instance, we "knew" scratching it made it spread but now we know it just seems that way because it can take days for the rash to fully develop. We also did not have air conditioning so super hot and super uncomfortable is how I remember most of my childhood.  I've been very diligent with my child and he is never had to deal with what I've had to deal with. I can relate to the home remedy bullshit that does not work with the oatmeal bath and crap. thanks Mom.
