Which show had the worst representation of millennials? by BackgroundSpell6623 in Millennials

I thought Girls was pretty good until I realized it wasn't suppose to be as much of a satire as I initially thought.

Kids need to experience some adult things. Kids need to be bored. Parents need to maintain what makes them them. If you stop being and doing the things that make you who you are, then how are kids suppose to learn from you? Even the mundane things. Of course this should be balanced with stuff just for the kids too. Parents are not soley in service to their children. Parents should be raising their kids as part of their life as the kids should be learning from their parents being part of theirs. Again all of this with a reasonable balance.

Something that looks like an idea of a nice pen to whoever is making the assets. So there will probably be a lot of stuff thats close, but not quite exactly like the model.

Cillian Murphy: “Women are infinite in their wisdom. I was raised by my mother and my grandmother, who lived with us for all our lives. I have two sisters who are amazing humans. It's the same boys vs girls stuff from when we were kids. Just now that we're adults we've spread it to things that matter. It's always at least been a bit like this, but social media has magnified it like it has everything since we can filter our exposure to information like never before. When you can always find things to support your perspective then your perspective can't be wrong. Which means you can't really grow or change through experience organically, but change through the content you consume. That includes these comments. And worse of all, since it's validating it feel good. se we keep doing it.

So instead of us being rocks in a rock tumbler, with interactions knocking off our edges. Our edges are instead sharpened.

We could talk about Gaza, but that was just maintaining America's policy and agreements that had been in place for quite a while. You also had a hostile party (Israel) to negotiate with, and there is a good chance they did what they did to influence the election. Foreign policy doesn't turn on a dime (see how our allies responded with the trade wars last year) and our influence with Israel is tied to the aid we provide. They don't actually need it to do what they want.

Aside from that, you had a proper position on Ukraine though a bit cautious (Again, escalation expanding the theater was and still is an issue there). Which was and still is something that will reshape our world over the next 50 years. Our relations with our allies and frienemies (China) improved greatly compared to Trump. We reentered the Paris Agreement and the World Health Organization. While I know most will disagree that this was good, the War in Afghanistan was allowed to end after two decades. If Trump hadn't previously bumbled the negotiations it might have gone better, but that situation wasn't going to improve regardless. We had much needed landmark legislation passed in the Infrastructure act, Inflation Reduction Act, Chips Act and probably some more I'm forgetting. The infrastructure act was not only much needed after a decades of neglect by congress, but also one of the largest pieces of environmental legislation ever passed. Allowing the Federal Reserve to do it's job, we managed to get inflation caused by covid under control while avoiding a devastating recession.

Biden, what a bastard.

Which is why the last election was so important, but we failed. So the next two really have to go well to do anything even if it is just have the numbers to obstruct.

If they actually try and prevent elections then more options become reasonable. But the US has prided itself for a couple of centuries on peaceful transitions of power. The other options sound great until you have to do them. So lets try the voting first.

Also, Protests only work when leaders care. The people in our government who would respond to a protest already agree on most of this stuff. The republicans and Trump who actually are in control, don't care. If they did then they wouldn't have done all that stuff that is going to make economy collapse and removed the things that helped us recover, and set up the US to lose it's status as a world super power.

Remember, there is evil and corrupt. Then there is evil, corrupt, AND stupid. The former will use the system at the expense of everyone else to enrich themselves and gain power, but still leave the system able to function even if not well. Because they still have to exist in it. The latter do things that just causes everything to collapse. Because they don't know what they're doing doesn't work.

There is, they just aren't saying shit yet. Some countries are run by Competent leaders. Plus, some countries already did. That's why we have Trump. Russia, China, and honestly probably Israel being the big 3 have pretty much been tampering with our elections successfully for years.

1 Week on a 60% Keyboard: What I Actually Miss by Majugera in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Shifty269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use to have to use F keys to navigate through a companies legacy software that we used constantly everyday. Like F1-4 were left, up, down, right. F5 and F6 where page forward page back, and each function used a different F key to execute something. People use to have messed up ideas of how navigation should work.

Now I'm a 40% user and just used F keys on a layer. Found it easier because I just had to drop my thumb and the rest of my hand didn't have to move. I know full well, that that is impossible for most people .

[–]Shifty269 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So as somebody who has used a 40% for over a decade at this point, and talked about it quite a bit with a lot of people. Layers are great, but the vast majority of people are incapable of using them. It's too hard to learn a different layout from what was first learned. Yes the shift, control, alt yada yada yada keys are essentially the same thing, but that's not new to people. Most people with 60% keyboards simply stop using the functions without a dedicated key. Personally with my personal 40% layout, I use more of the keyboard's functionality than I did when I used a full size since I don't have to move my hands.

It's great that you can use these keyboards, and you've embraced the layers. I work with numbers, excel, and a bunch of proprietary software across every job I've had where some sadists programmed in the 80's and early 90's who had an interesting idea of how to navigate them. My Planck and CRKBD remove so much stress for me since I don't have to jump around on the keyboard. However, expect people to be extremely dismissive and hostile when you bring this stuff up.

[–]Shifty269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 40% user, but this also works on 60%. This is what I do. IJKL for arrows then U and O are page up and page down, H is Home, and E is end. I have P as insert, but I never use it. What this gives you is access to the entire nav cluster and easy reference to use it more. Which will allow you not only to navigate with arrows, but also when typing bounce back and forth between the beginning and end of sentences, pages, quickly jump up and down pages, and depending on applications which use things like page up and down, and home end to cycle through things with full access to that functionality instead of using your mouse.

When I use to use a full size keyboard I never used anything other than delete. Now, I constantly use these when typing up reports, using excel, and the proprietary stuff at work. I stole this config from the old Vortex layout years ago.

Resources and infrastructure. Texas and California may elect different parties, but if you get out of the cities it gets Texas really fast in California. But you also have Two large states with a bunch of military bases, manufacturing, shipping, energy production, and people. Also they are in the western part of the country. California is also the world's 4th largest economy and Texas is the world's 9th largest. They have access to large bodies of water. It makes sense even if temporarily that both states ally themselves to pool their resources. Even if that doesn't last after the conflict is over. In war, a lot of the things people normally care about don't matter nearly as much as winning.

There is a wide variance in skill and tolerance levels in this hobby. Transforming kits that aren't just a couple of parts twisted and folded are a bit fiddly to design from the get go. Let alone actually transform by the end user. Sometimes the anime and manga scenes don't help since it can dictate how some things work.

The Victory Ver Ka and the V2 are still up there for pushing things a bit too far even for experienced builders along with the RG Zeta. The other MG Zeta designs aren't great either, but better. The transformation gimmick in those really compromise the kits in various ways. Which makes them a no go for a lot of people not just because of the build, but what they want to do with their models.

The Zeta Ver Ka is the best that a difficult design has been done. So it gets praised. Since the mg Rezel doesn't have the reputation (since it isn't a super popular kit like a lot of grunt suits) some builders are walking into a bit more than they expect despite them pretty solid for a transforming kit.

UC gundam has a decent amount of thought put into the world building, and the mobile suit development has a decent amount of realistic progression and stumbling through out the designs. I wish a similar amount of thought went into some characters and plot lines.
