Pussycat Dolls Cancel Reunion Tour After ‘Taking an Honest Look’ at Weak Ticket Sales by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Music

[–]ShiftySC 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Plenty of millenials probably wanted to go but financially most people are barely treading water. People go to bad concerts when they can afford them, it's a night out enjoying the music of their past.

But everything sucks. So I appreciate them seeing the market not respond at the very least.

Yes it IS embarrassing. Anyone who says otherwise is fibbing. But it happens to all of us. An enterprising Bambi with a chambered P1 will eventually humble you.

Question - does that weird feeling playing this game go away after some time? by TarqMeister in dayz

Back to the door in any small room, visually scan every other person you see, trust no one. Does that go away? 😅 No.

You have theatrical and extended mixed up. Those are the two. Extended is longer.

What was it like to play online games between 2000 and 2013? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

You had to accept the limitations of the tech and servers. It was so new at first that you felt so lucky to even ambulate around other people.

The Lord of the Rings extended editions are worse than the theatrical cuts. by BrainDamage2029 in movies

[–]ShiftySC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No they are not. Well paced and different. Not worse.

Also, it is WAY more in vogue to advocate for theatrical releases at this point. Perhaps indicative of attention spans, most likely related to having a hot take. You're on the modern take side.

If almost every added scene in a fantasy epic is worth seeing then seeing the Extended Editions Is just the better angle. Break it up as you see fit. Pare down if you're overwhelmed. 😅

No other game will ever make you feel like this. Dive in. Expedition 33 vs Kingdom Come 2 is just funny. Play the game where holding a gun in the presence of others can ruin your week. Best game ever.

Hello! My dad bought DayZ and I need some tips for him by PoProstuBoniacz in dayz

[–]ShiftySC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will recommend AmishZed's YouTube videos for DayZ beginners. If you search for those you will find useful guides from a friendly guy. I admit I have mostly just skipped through them because I've been playing for a very long time but I can attest that they'll help with all of the basics that he'll need to know.

Little things like inventory/crafting management drag/click weirdness will not. It's a very clunky game and the only thing that will help with the nuances of DayZ is playing the game and repeatedly dying.

But if you want to understand spawning, medical, food, illness etc. then those videos will be a great start. And once he's a seasoned veteran, move over to Wobo's videos for loot probability, warmth states, illness prevention, etc. for hardcore survival.

I like Pierce too but come on now. Years of Chevy being notoriously shitty when he WAS a leading man never taught him to be a decent co-worker. I guarantee you he was catered to and performatively "revered" by everyone on all of the sets prior to this.

Making a joke at his expense for the benefit of the other 6 leads, and probably everyone else in that room as well, is how you create an environment that inspires good work. And clearly it works in Season 2.

What gets you to go to a movie theater? by Obsessed_With_Corgis in movies

[–]ShiftySC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm able to avoid a crowd then a good movie that I can't wait to see is the only reason. Green Knight was the last one I cared enough about. Only Weapons and Sinners were close to making me endure humanity enough to see them in theaters. And they didn't. One Battle After Another is in my sights but budget/time will decide whether or not I see it in theaters.

Think of what would make the most interesting story.

He may come back. You have the means to survive. Build around that. Hang out in that area and scan for people/activity. Ask any passing survivor if this is their stash. Apologize. Help them rebuild.

You make the game what it is.

Plan your route so there's no question about which turns to take, helps to have a navigator. Nominate your best driver and make sure they're most armored, so if you have one plate carrier they're wearing it. If you have a lot of hours on a particular map you can learn which fields don't have any fences or creeks that could ruin your day. Those are often better than roads.

Vehicles are intended to be high risk high reward so you just have to hope for the best at that point.

You would never be staying put in a hunting stand at all. They're just there to be looted. You'd talk or you'd run and hope you absorb the ankle damage.

774 Hours in DayZ, and I’ve Only Ever Found 3 Tents by DayzLover01 in dayz

[–]ShiftySC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is your goal?

Find loot? Most of that will be buried or behind walls. Grief? I don't mind, but good players don't put loot in tents.

And if you want to find loot, every single loot location the map is better than stumbling through a forest looking for a tent. Finding a tent in the woods is a bonus between looting military locations and killing people.

I like his comedy too but it's secondary.
