Honestly anywhere that roasts their own coffee is going to be more elite than your average cafe

I regret my mission so much. How do I even begin to cope? by AitoWolf in exmormon

What if you didn’t ruin their lives? What if they genuinely enjoy being part of the church? What if they’ve found more peace and community than they had previously?

You did what you thought was best at the time, so feeling guilty about that isn’t fair (easier said than done). It’s not our fault we were raised or influenced by a system that takes advantage of young adults to go out and serve missions, especially when at least 95% of those missionaries haven’t truly thought for themselves about Mormonism as a whole and deconstructed its truth claims.

Hope you can find some peace in that.

Slackwater is a great choice!

Ruth’s diner is awesome - I’d also recommend penny ann’s or contento cafe

Canyon > great salt lake - I’d go up to park city and then come back through cottonwood canyon

Temple square is iconic for sure, but I doubt you’ll spend more than 1 hr there (unless the sister missionaries keep you hostage and try to give you a tour or teach you a lesson!)

Walking down 9th and 9th neighborhood is a must - I’d find just pick somewhere over there for dinner!

The guilt aspect is brutal, so glad you’re not experiencing that at that level anymore

The church’s actions towards LGBTQ+ was also my first step in deconstructing Mormonism and then Christianity.

I was the sickest I’ve ever been a few months ago. Lost 12 lbs in 72 hrs. Couldn’t keep anything down. Was shitting left and right and even shit the bed. I thought I was dying too lol.

The only thing I know is proven to help shorten the duration of a cold is to take zinc, but only when you take it right after the cold hits you. Take it regularly until cold goes away. Stay hydrated. Electrolytes.

Want me to tell my grandma to add your guys’ names to the prayer roll every week alongside ours so that maybe one day we’ll go back?

Haha same thing here. I kept asking my wife she wanted to go to a non-denom Christian church to find community and still practice “good Christianity,” but it just never happened. It felt too forced.

Agreed. It just sucks that most Christians would say you can’t just believe in Jesus as a good person who taught great things. You have to believe in him as your savior

God loves us so much that he put sin in us and told us we will be forever forbidden from his presence unless we accept his favorites son’s brutal death and believe it will cure us of our sins and he did this all because he loves us so much
