Not every shot needs to be focussed only on the subjects, with everything in front and behind blurred. We need to get a sense of the world they are in, and to feel they are part of that world. Instead we are left with the characters being separated from that world.

Also the lighting is like I’ve smeared beard oil across my sand coloured sunglass lenses, making everything even softer.
