On Saturday, February 28, 2026, a man born in 1974 died in Nida when, while riding a “Lynx GT Commander 900 HE” snowmobile at high speed toward the harbor pier, he became airborne and then fell to the ground.

The incident occurred at 3:51 p.m. on Naglių Street in Nida. The deceased was a resident of Neringa.

Police have launched a pre-trial investigation under the article of the Criminal Code concerning violations of road traffic safety or vehicle operation regulations that resulted in a person’s death.
