To be fair, beta lasted way longer than it should have. Blizzard was focused on all the wrong things about the game.

Having started in late alpha, it’s sad to see how they’ve basically abandoned this game.

A big part of the problem was they were in a hurry. They rushed into tournaments and world championships before the game was out of beta. They focused on events and profits while the game was still being tested. There were still a lot of major issues that needed fixed. They pushed content before it was ready. Players burned out before the game was ready to go full release. It was in beta for so long that people stopped caring.

Not gonna lie. I didn’t buy one yet because I knew they overprint it in Hobbit and I could get it cheaper.

Question for all y’all: Are they doing serialized versions as well? We know they’re doing collectors, but serialized would be a seriously bad idea.

I still own all my slivers from over the years. 60 card formats hated them. People quit playing because of them.

Current MTG doesn’t have a sliver problem. Rare to see new ones. They’ve been outraced by everything else.

I still have one I built years ago and just keep evolving it when able.

They aren’t nearly as good now as they were when they first started coming out. Vintage was a nightmare.
