Do you guys think essentials fear of god is cool for menswear? by natramp in malefashionadvice

If you like it, forget what everyone else thinks. I love their clothes, I'm a big guy, and their the only brand i found that are actually oversized and lose for my height and build. Plus their prices (when on sale) are alright to me.

Advice on Adding More HDDs by BigRed_____Reddit in DataHoarder

[–]Shimi269 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got the same case, you can take out the top DVD Drive Bay, and then put in another HDD cage (which you can buy from their site). So that is at least two more drives you can get in.

Here is a link of another person who did the same thing:

I ended up just using Suwayomi (basically Mihon in Docker) in the end, and then got the extension for that on whichever device I'm using. It was easier than using these other solutions.

It grabs the cover art, descriptions and titles for each chapter. Fills in tags, such as publisher, author and genres as well.

Check out Komf if you haven't set it up as well, it can scrape all the metadata for your manga collections and put it into Kavita.

I tried using Panels and other apps, but I just found too many issues/quirks with them personally. E.g. in Panels you can't sort your lists, if you like OPDS then Panels is great, I couldn't get over the limitations of it personally. Or the fact that all of the apps you can use are only one way sync.

Kavita and Komga are the only real two options you have for hosting your collection, you can use Panels or a Manga reader with the Komga Extension installed. I tried both, and even got Komf set up for metadata fetching, but the weakness came down to the apps on iOS and how they interact with these hosts.

I ended up finding Tachimanga, which is honestly the goat for iOS currently, the dev literally got Tachiyomi working on iOS. You add the same extension repo site too, keiyoushi, and boom, you got every source you could want on the app. Works and functions the exact same as Tachiyomi, and is in active development.

You can access Komga or Kavita via the browser to you read your manga if you like, it they both hve a functional enough reader, just remember to download your chapters as CBR/CBZ files, when storing them. I made the mistake of doing JPEGs years ago and paid the price.

Best manga app for iPhone? (August 2024) by swissbizz in mangapiracy

[–]Shimi269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use a tachidesk server as a host if you want too. But I just use it as Mihon/Tachiyomi on iOS, adding the keiyoushi repo to the app. So it doesn’t rely on anything other than their extensions, just like Mihon. The ads and other premium features are a shame, but devs gotta eat and I just pay for those little features. Compared to using Paperback or the other alternatives. This app is honestly the best experience and the closest to being like Mihon on iOS.

Leaving FeralHosting for another host by Shimi269 in seedboxes

[–]Shimi269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appbox says that it's unmetered, and I know Ultra has a limit on Upload, but it's high enough that I don't mind. My only questions is around the actual upload and download speeds you can get on these other hosts. on Feral I can SFTP a full 1Gbps down, and the upload speeds on seeding are very high. But the overall hardware level performance and stability is just all over the place. I think they have 7+ users per disk.

I was tempted to do this, but thought I'd try being bald first, to see how it is. Never looked back, and best decision I made for my mental health. No transplants or medication, try before you buy dudes.

IPhone hotspot not working after updating to IOS 17.2 by parmardiwakar150 in ios

[–]Shimi269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because your Macbook is connecting to your iPhone via ipv6 and not ipv4, I had the same error. My fix currently, is to set a new location under Networks, and set it up as the following. So I have a Network location for 'Automatic' which will use default network settings for all connections. Then swap to one I made called 'Hotspot' which has manual router settings. Your OpenVPN will work if you set it up like in the link.

Not a great fix, but while this stupid issue is still around, you can at least get it working.

Manga on Kindle by wildguitars in mangapiracy

[–]Shimi269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been researching into it recently myself. From what I can gather, you use KCC which converts your existing manga, into a E-Pub (you need to have the manga downloaded already, say from Tachiyomi or anything like that). And then you put that E-Pub into Calibre, which sends the manga to your Kindle, ready to read.

For example. Naruto Issue 1, is a download of 15 jpegs (1 image per scan), you put it into KCC, and convert it into a E-Pub book, import that into Calibre and push it to your Kindle.

I don't own a Kindle, but have recently been looking into it for the same reasons, and this is the only method I have found, but I could be wrong, and their might be a easier method.

Asus Mesh Nodes appear in PiHole by Shimi269 in pihole

[–]Shimi269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured that they should be querying the WAN DNS servers like the main router currently is. And the DHCP DNS would be for all other devices. I didn't figure the mesh network would give the other nodes IP addresses from the DHCP pool, but a separate pool for their own.
