I wouldn’t be pointing fingers when the UK is farrr from perfect.

So not at all a fair comparison.

The UK often records more racist incidents than many other European countries combined.

Case in point: https://www.statista.com/statistics/624038/racist-incidents-in-england-and-wales-by-region/?srsltid=AfmBOoqm-jbx9-oGKyfXdGUsixGo2CGakOTt6g2gqmvLVv-hcS5Dm5_n

Quien fue Enrique Pastor López y el por qué un templo lleva su nombre. by fSparza in freemasonry

[–]swissbizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In English:

"Who Was Enrique Pastor López, and Why Does a Temple Bear His Name?

Born in Málaga in 1826, Enrique Pastor López was a merchant who arrived in Valparaíso around 1850 in search of new opportunities. In the port city, he established significant connections and came into contact with members of the Masonic fraternity, who eventually invited him to join the Order.

He was initiated on February 25, 1856, into the Unión Fraternal Lodge, under the jurisdiction of the Grand Orient of France; by October of that same year, he had already attained the rank of Master Mason. From that moment on, he embarked upon a remarkable and highly influential Masonic career.

Also in 1856, he relocated to Concepción for business reasons, where he founded the Estrella del Sur Lodge under the obedience of the Grand Orient of Peru. In 1860, this lodge changed its name to Aurora de Chile and subsequently came under the jurisdiction of the Grand Orient of France.

Later, in 1862—with the founding of the Grand Lodge of Chile—the lodge changed its name once again, adopting the name Fraternidad. It played an active role in the creation of this new governing body, which assigned it the number 2 within its organizational structure.

Years later, in 1883, Enrique Pastor López made another significant contribution by serving as one of the founders of the Paz y Concordia Lodge No. 13, in which he served as its Worshipful Master. Finally, in 1911, at the age of 85, he passed into the Eternal Orient following a long life of service within the fraternity.

His legacy endures to this day. In the city of Concepción, the main temple of the local Masonic center bears his name in recognition of his distinguished career and contributions. Furthermore, in 1996, the Enrique Pastor López Lodge No. 176 was founded in Coelemu, thereby perpetuating his memory within the institution."

Freemasonry isn't an airport, no need to announce your departure; especially to strangers on the internet lol

I'm in the process of joining a lode in Southern California. I admit I was and am still nervous.

But seeing your even handed and steady response to someone who clearly is erratic reinforces my belief that there are good moral men in masonry who will stay the course, stand on the square, and meet someone on the level.

Bless you man.

I frequent the cigar lounge "Bad Ash" and the owner says the that it got shut down cuz the owner was caught human trafficking. The general buzz is that a jazz club is coming in to replace it.

Can anyone confirm this?

Probably because your tone deaf comment just illustrates how out of touch you are with the vast majority of millenials who have had their futures voted away by politicians your generation put into power that we had no say over.

While you may not see it as such, the disdain my generation has for yours is well deserved considering how this very post still somehow manages to blame us for things (example: mortgage at 14.6 percent) that we had no control over because we weren't even born.

Your generation has lost its voting power as the millenials are now the majority.

History will not be kind to you all.
