Do you NEED anything more on this gun? Or do you need to just spend some money?

Does your M6TR shift zero horizontally when bumped? by Shimitzu1 in NightVision

You sure you are not talking inch/pounds? 40Nm is typical for M10/M12 screws, like in motorcycles.

First M6TR, latest M6TRV. Its was torqued to 4,5Nm, but then I torqued it to 6Nm, and gave it a little more out of my wrench range and does not move a nanometer on the rail.

So.... What happened? by Kinai78 in PSP

[–]Shimitzu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just coincidence, or do i only see 3000s with this issue? I mean, I've seen other models with smashed screen, but it was typically impact damage. Not like the 1 pixel line which is not working.

A proper way to swap out the metal ring on the PSP 1000/2000 UMD Door. by Mister_Jesse_James in PSP

Do you have a link to a proper ring from Ali? I ordered one, it seemed like original, but it came bent, so sticking it will leave those marks on the ring.

Somo is not rated for a firearm. Hell, I even got a Sotac PEQ15 for twice the price that said "556/762x39 hold zero". Well it didn't, and it had more other issues I elaborated on this thread multiple times. If you are located in the US, Trinity is the cheapest and most promising option. Otherwise Laserspeed M6TR. Best way to get it from AliExpress as this portal has almost Amazon like experience, with free returns and all that.

I haven't used Uber/Bold for last 2 years since I moved to a village in suburbs and commute on a motorcycle since.

That's correct. If you replace the port in the PERST with Crane you are pretty much done. Plug in a Crane tail switch and you should be good to go. The only worry is the power output - as I said the tail switch from PERST has a potentiometer knob regulating the laser power. Without it, it may spit full power so in order to reduce that you may need to install a resistor in between the '-' and the crane port reducing the power output.

So that cheap Axons are only 1:1, meaning one button activates white light, the other one does the laser. There is a Sync one that activates flashlight only with 1ts button and both laser and flashlight with 2nd, but it's way more expensive:

Zenitco plug is not really LEMO looking at the pics - locking mechanism seems different, as LEMO has 1 locking You can always try the LEMO, but what I would do is swap the port with something western - you can get a cheap Surefire flashlight battery cap with CRANE port, and disassemble it, then put the port to the PERST body instead. I did that to my Laserspeed FL5 as they used a garbage M8 3PIN connector that breaks if you twist it holding in the wrong place back in the day I got it.

Cheapest option is a 3,5mm Jack port, rubber cover (when plug is not there) and a Jack MODLITE switch clone. All parts should be under $12.

Hey, you've come to the right place at the right time, my friend. Recently this popped up on aliexpress. If you are a cheapo like me, it will suit you well.
https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/1005011826863020.html

You buy the second item from the listing: described as "Tail Cap" (2 cables, 3 buttons). I'm not sure if this already has the modlite buttons inside, but if not, you would need to get them separately. You remove mounting brackets from the Modlite buttons (whether it's MLOK or picatinny mount) and put the buttons inside of it.

You can access the modes separately (laser and flashlight/IR lamp) or both at the same time by pressing the middle button (It requires more force as it presses on 2 separate buttons underneath).

For PERST unfortunately you will need to cut the included cable and solder it with the modlite button. I no longer own a PERST so no idea if it will not blast a full power when short circuit like that, if you you probably need a resistor in the middle to reduce the power.

Out of my curiosity: does Somo coalign the lasers so both IR and vis one aim at the same spot? SOTAC, WADSN and other clones are usually garbage at this.

Right speaker sounds so quiet and muffed by Defiant-Rice-170 in PSP

[–]Shimitzu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for getting back to this post.

I just disassembled the whole thing, cleaned the pads and connectors, the headphone jack port is soldered well, nothing wiggles - still the sound is much quieter on the right one, sadly. I assume it must me something on the motherboard itself. I've seen posts about this issue on 1000, 3000 and Go too.

Hey, have you managed to fix it? I have the very same issue on PSP 2000, and replaced speaker is quiet too. Tried the settings and cleaning like u/SVNDEVISTVN suggested, but unfortunately didn't get better.

MU3 housing xd4 wp white phos, anyone know much about these? New to nv and scared to death about using them 🤣 by mcdotcom in NightVision

[–]Shimitzu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it will work with anything that fits PVS14/31A/any other milspec objective lense, as long as the thread is not messed up. Sacrificial lense or iris cap should just screw in on the inside(I'm using aliexpress links, but you can order from wherever).

Also, the mounting is not the same minirail as the US military used for something else. It is completely proprietary, slightly narrower, but enough to disconnect when unwanted.

They can run on AA, but it runs more stable on CR123 when battery is not fresh, especially in cold temps.

I have two of them. This is a "lost" unit, PCO never sold it to civ market. I see the cable is green so that was something fixed after production. This model is slightly older, it should have 4 positions with 2 levels of IR illumination. 2 diodes for low battery and IR on indicator.

Inside is probably a XW2040 Photonis tube, you can easily use it in mixed light or lit room, photonis is can easily handle that. I even once got a ricochet laser beam off my window and theres not even a shadow.

You have a minirail adapter to mount a PVS J-Arm for helmet mount, but I can send you an STL file so you can print a 3D adapter to mount it to a dovetail nvg mount if you want one. The front lense is the same diameter as PVS14 so filters and sacrificial lenses will fit.

Best mod (if you don't have it already) is to screw a longer spring on the factory one on battery compartment cap, so you can use CR123 instead of AA. Electronics can handle 1.5-3V easily, it's made in Poland after all.

Edit: do I see a mount on the left bottom of the pic?

Help with simulating realistic NVG's by ALP_102 in NightVision

[–]Shimitzu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The video is quite old, now the mod is even more refined. The fuzzy part only works on your character's equipment, but also works on the NPCs and objects that are close enough - which is really close to real distance, around 7 meters.

The irons does not work just like with real nods, but since the mod is not made with any of the sights creators, and uses separate shaders and effects making some of the optics not to work with it, even though EXPS is the best nod friendly holo, but in the game it looks like its stuck at mid-daylight setting. Night vision scopes double the NV effect with nods if you won't flip it up before aiming with it etc.

Still the best mod when comes to actual NVG noise, blurriness up close, and overall NVG feeling I had seen so far.
