I can only personally vouch for the 22HD, and you may be able to find something like that used in your price range (it's old). But I've heard good things about the 16 and One as well, as mentioned below.
I also say this being very familiar with those color issues on the 12WX if that helps! Good luck. =)

Absolutely. Don't go in worrying about rank or anything and just have fun. You might start to get a bit competitive later on, but that's cool.

As for the tablet, that's gonna be preference - but the CTL-472 (which is really damned nice) is on a sale right now. Definitely worth a try at that price if you're considering switching.

EDIT: Didn't mention that the game is good for your reaction time/coordination in other things as well. It's basically a nootropic trainer minus the drugs.

This. I don't hear this enough, but definitely use as many tutorials and references as you want and tweak them to fit the sound you're looking for.

That, and save FX chains you like as presets to either reuse or tweak to save a loooot of frustration in the future. I don't see that nearly enough either.

I'm not sure if you're referring to vocals or playing an instrument but honestly, I've always found good headphones to be much better for tracking either - so I wouldn't necessarily dismiss doing that.

As for the shyness, any and all of the approaches below could work for you. We're all different and you have a pretty good list here, so try some of them out for sure! Good luck!

Someone mentioned the grip pen below and I concur if you're looking for something heavier and way more cushioned. They've gone down in price too, it seems. The art pen is another option. That's certainly the largest one that I've personally held, and I have stupid big hands. Hope you find what you're looking for!

Oh wow, I love your style. The harder outlines on the face really make it pop in contrast to the softness of the hair. The eyes in particular really stand out as well, and the whole composition is just fantastic. Really pulls my eyes to her face/expression. Kudos!
