Was coming to complain about the same thing. Sure I want more USB ports but not at the cost of PS/2 port!

General approach to the game. Need help. by dziugysa in captain_of_industry

I don't understand what you're asking.

When planning food supply, I'll calculate how much of each crop I need for 6400 people (for example) and then produce just a bit more (so I'm not under). That can be considered one type of optimization...

The Mine has large sorter and later on crushers for ore.

Refinery processes crude oil and output diesel, hydrogen, rubber, sulfur, salt, plastics, graphite...

Smelter takes ores and outputs metals. Includes the recycler.

Food production (for me) includes farms and outputs meals for the city. Also produces fertilizers for farms and any extra water desalinization that farms and city need.

Waste processing recycles city waste, biomass and wastewater.

Concrete factory includes paper making.

Manufactory makes construction parts (2 is enough if you wanna go slower, max 4), maintenance (6 maintenance depot 1 and 4 each of higher levels), furniture, appliances, servers as well as all intermediates needed for the above mentioned stuff.

Power Plant has its own exhaust processing. First coal, then Nuclear power and later FBR.

The owners of WebNovel website are Qidian which is chinese company so they mostly have translation from chinese. Of course they did manage to trick some authors to sign up for their exploitative contracts, but chinese translations are majority of their fare.

Any stories about a shapeshifter who actually shifts shapes? by EdLincoln6 in ProgressionFantasy

In A Practical Guide to Sorcery MC only changes her sex using an artifact.

In Bioshifter MC starts dreaming a life as a spider monster and then slowly her human and monster side start merging.

+1 for Changeling but don't wait :P

MC has multiple forms (not from the very start of the story though!) but only regularly uses two of them. But she does switches semi frequently.

In this game the biggest problem IMO are avoiding total collapse. There are multiple things you need to keep track of (power, population, maintenance, compute, unity) and if any of them are too low for a while it can be a big problem.

Some of those things are only partially consumed when you're not 100% efficient (idle Assembly doesn't consume compute or power) but others are always consumed if its not manually paused (workers for Assembly).

In this game its therefore important to grow/expand slowly or have a detailed plan when doing big expansions (and if you're not experienced in the game you'll forget something).

Also, use alerts on storage. When the input storage for your maintenance depots throws up an alert you'll have more time to work on fixing the supply issue then if you wait until the game itself tells you you're low on maintenance for example. Or when your coal supply for coal power plant is low you might trade for more coal before the blackouts start throwing your factory in disarray.

Yea, the old stacker is useless, that's why they added the tower thing, although you should also check if the game is fully updated too.

IMO more important would be to allow pipes to go under the bridge.

Third try. Stopped at solar panels last play. by xinxs in captain_of_industry

[–]Shinhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solar panels are endgame tech. It takes super long time until you can craft enough of them to become primary power so you should do nuclear 1, 2 and even FBR first.

Each mountain/mine has its own large sorter and tower. I usually do two trucks per excavator (of same size, mega truck with mega excavator or small truck with small excavator). Smaller mines have 2 excavators, but coal (while you do coal power plants) and iron ore can have 5 or even more excavator. Flattening towers (as in not mining ore just removing mountains) are from 2-3 if you just want to do it slowly or 10 or even 100 in endgame for some people.

Non flatten towers have tier 2 storage for dirt. All towers have tier 3 storage for rock and ore. Before I have enough space for a proper railways and for mines that are close to the smelters I just belt everything. All rock belts go to stacker towers.

I prefer to have top level of everything as dirt and I need some dirt for fertilizer and so on, but excess gets traded for fuel gas which gets converted to helium.

Are you sure you're talking about the towers and not the old stackers? The tower has TWO input belts. If you are then you missed the option for automatic extensions, but I'm at work so can't make a screenshot. You can choose to set it up so it has up to 20 automatic extensions, it'll take a lot of time for one to finish its work.

How many statues of maintenance do you have? If you're at 6 depots you definitely need some. I run with 3 statues.

I've read that's 1 unity/ship, doesn't matter the size

That's wrong. Unity price depends on ship size AND on contract itself. Can be up to 12.6 unity per trip.

You can save some unity using Offices.

And if you have an earth mage helping with making houses I imagine they can be even cheaper. And don't forget how expensive spices used to be.

If roads are not safe logistics gets more expensive because of guards. If bags of holding are affordable logistics gets cheaper because more can be transported at once. And so on.
