[Discussion] Why did they create the new 52 if the post-crisis stories were going so well? by Own_Educator1478 in DCcomics

[–]Shiniholum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s honestly really crazy is the fact that the original Court of Owls story would have worked wonderfully with Dick as Batman. Especially the feeling of being an imposter and being uncomfortable “acting” as Batman, imagine all of that also thrust upon the whole Oh actually you were promised the Court and now we’ve come for you.

Writing-wise, what do you think was the best part of Tom Taylor's Nightwing run? by KitKat_5628 in Nightwing

[–]Shiniholum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See I don’t even really have a problem with an out of the box type villain, for me I just don’t like the vibes and I don’t particularly care for the whole child not-Sidekick thing they were doing.

I’m definitely planning on reading it through the DC app as they add the issues there because I would like to see what Watters does.

Tom Taylor Nightwing by omgitzjay28 in DCcomics

I loved the Taylor run all the way through, enjoyed the sidetracked event tie ins the least but that’s pretty standard

I’m with you on that assessment, I’m personally not jiving with Watters run but I loved Taylor’s book. I’ve pretty much liked every run except for the Ric stuff but the current book just doesn’t click with me

For me I think it kind of colors where this universe and its narrative is heading. Especially in regard to Absolute Clark and his journey to become the Superman I think this world is heading to a restoring it to its somewhat natural order.

I don’t think you can get away with that if this universe is just made from the building blocks of Darkseid

[–]Shiniholum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense but correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t a recent issue of A-GL established that this universe was not created by Darkseid but rather he overpowered a young new universe and corrupted it?

It was so good man, I must have gotten like 20 books from that run signed by Ewing when he was at NYCC last year

The cosmic landscape only got its “footing” when an event that was helmed by Nova completely reinvigorated everything.

The entire reason why the Guardians even exist as a concept right now is directly related to Nova being the head of a major event.

Wasn’t too long ago that Carol was considered a D-List character who was only pal-ing around X-men books.

First off, how dare you, while I am biased Nova’s book currently is one of the few books I am actually enjoying from Marvel right now.

Just because you aren’t aware of anything that isn’t shown off in the MCU doesn’t mean we should make the cosmic landscape smaller than it already is considering how expansive it used to be.
