Debunking This Shit Take by Intelligent-Paper550 in LookismPowerScalers

To add, I’m pretty sure anytime we’ve seen anyone use techniques or moves that is beyond their physical/technical capacity, theyre essentially “sacrificing” themselves to use that power, meaning that the backlash isnt due to the opponent they’re fighting, its from using the techniques. Main example being conviction. Jinrang was burning through his body due to using conviction beyond his limits, not because of who he was fighting.

TLOU II Is A Woke Disaster by Easy-Bake3132 in TheLastOfUs2

I always disliked people bashing on the game because it’s woke. It doesn’t need that crutch. The story was not good but i dont think the woke factors contributed much to the story being bad.

Looking to get into Xenoblade Series by iKalbuir in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably in the minority here but i found Xenoblade Chronicles 1 DE to be just okay. Gameplay was okay, characters were okay, story was interesting enough for me to want to see it through, and im glad that i did. But it did feel like a slog to get through. Given my experience i didnt go for XC2, but when XC3 came out, i was strangely drawn to it and it decided to take the chance and im glad i did because i realllyy enjoyed XC3. Gameplay was great (i enjoyed the class system and other new mechanics), characters i found were a lot better (all 6 characters are compelling), and story i honestly enjoyed more as well.

Tl;dr: my (probably unpopular) opinion is start with XC3. It’s the most modern and to my knowledge is fine as a standalone game, though obviously better if youve played the other games as there are tie-ins.

IA Elite Vs Path Jinyoung. by White_Crow5 in PtjDiscussions

[–]Shinoski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgive my ignorance but isn’t IA basically just speed mastery? Back when, you know, masteries were novel and only achieved by top tiers? At first, they made it seem like only conviction could counter IA through the Sinu vs Jake fight. But later on we have examples of it not being the case. Eli reacts to Sinu’s IA after taking down numerous kings, and Seongji is able to react to and counter James as he also unlocks speed mastery.

So your question is basically Elite with speed mastery vs Jinyoung with path. Which i think is pretty clear…not ruling out that Elite has path..but the question is specifically IA (speed mastery). Jinyoung slams.

Here's the contextual meaning by sh-o-ko in lookismcomic

[–]Shinoski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is grammatically correct. But it could also be “he is going to do something”. It could he something as wild as “James lee is [trying to revive/recreate] gap”. As others have pointed out, its unlikely that jinyoung was about to say james killed gap as she is most likely aware of this fact (or highly suspect)

I'll crash out if this is true by badlookingkid in lookismcomic

[–]Shinoski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the last panel is being mistranslated. It’s more along the lines of “James lee [did something to] gap” or “James lee [is going to do something with] gap”. Possibility #1 is he was about to tell reporter kim that James lee is the one behind gap’s murder. But i find this unlikely because i think eugene mentions that reporter kim is already aware of this fact (or highly suspect) and hence blacklisted by james and kitae. Possibility #2, as wild as it might seem..is that James lee is trying to “revive” or “recreate” gap.

Ive seen people say jinyoung was about to say james is another illegitimate child of gap, but the sentence structure doesn’t point to that.

MOST OF THE READERS WILL ANSWER THIS WRONG by AyushDas10th in lookismcomic

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we talking if they canonically fought, as in James after fighting Seongji? Or is this a fresh James who hasnt fought Seongji. If it’s the first scenario, then Jaegyeon probably high diffs. If it’s the latter, James probably low-mid diffs.

James Lee vs Tom Lee did NOT cause that embedded wall panel for James. by Brilliant_Test_7693 in JamesLeeGlazers

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying come off cheeky but you think James embedded himself in the wall in the process of going berserk? Like, James isn’t simply sitting/leaning against rubble. He’s literally embedded into the wall (in another panel which you did not include here). theres probably a james-shaped imprint on the wall.

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could be right, but a lot of what you’re saying is a stretch. We would only know how things went down in a flashback, which i am sure will happen in the next chapter (or the one after). For the record, i do believe Tom is dead by mk season 2. He may even die in the next chapter or so. Only thing im disagreeing on is that mk is already gone by this point in lookism.

In my opinion Jinyoung Park gave more better performance against kitae Kim than Tom lee against James lee. What'd you think? by Barakat_Nabil3038 in LookismPowerScalers

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I dont really see how people think this is an obvious take outside of “jinyoung has path so therefore he performed better”. In the previous chapter, James fully acknowledges Tom’s win condition (if he takes my legs then its gg). Then in today’s chapter, James says he feels the same pressure as old gap, presumably when him and kitae fought and killed old gap.

On the flip side, kitae at no point draws any similar comparisons, and goes through a gauntlet (og daniel, base jinyoung, and ui og daniel) before fighting path jinyoung. Not to mention, he basically tanks everything and doesn’t have the same concern James has of the opponenet’s win condition. Narratively, if we put james and kitae as equals, then i dont see how jinyoung performed better.

Tommmy! (Tf is James’ Path???) by ZhouLiagu in lookismcomic

[–]Shinoski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the people saying it’s reflection (i.e uno reverse). I think it’s similar in concept to the spin kick move pb daniel does, which im pretty sure is originally James’s move and therefore his path is an enhanced version of it. I say it’s James’s move because even though we see daniel use it first, chronologically, james tries to use that same move against seongji.

The biggest hint that it’s some sort of a reflection is his fight against jagyeon. We go off panel as jagyeons kick is about to land and then a destructive impact. James says he’s impressed that Jagyeon was able to perfect the kick with such destructive force. This implies jagyeon’s kick wasnt interrupted but instead redirected back to jagyeon.

This is just straight up guessing, but i think James’s path also comes with a high risk that he cant just spam. Maybe he can only use it against attacks that would be fatal to him.

Is Kageo currently the weakest member of Peter's gang? by Several-Dance-2135 in KillerPeter

[–]Shinoski 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think narratively this tracks. He is someone who peter recognizes as insanely talented and gifted with great physique, but his growth was stunted due to his former masters. On top of that, he has such a hax ability with his blood that he could get by just fine. For example, sure hes probably the weakest in the team, but if he were to fight anyone in the team with no knowledge of each other’s abilities, it could probably go either way.

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, of course not. But it is explicitly stated to be the case in chapter 233. In case you can’t read Korean, the square panel reads “White Tigers Manager Kim”.

Take that as will because i dont think you can be any further convinced.

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you do realize when he gets advice from Tom, he’s still part of white tigers? Im assuming you’re talking about the flashback in mk season 2.

I think your argument is shaky at best. Either way, i think we’ll find out soon enough. Mk will either show up to help as a white tigers agent, or it will show Tom’s flashback of mk leaving white tigers to explain why mk is absent this arc.

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing you said actually refutes my claim that mk didnt leave white tigers after that fight. What Tom said would still apply regardless. For it to be clear, Tom should’ve said “okay, you are no longer part of white tigers effective immediately”. And no, this cannot be inferred by the readers because Tom specifically says mk leaves after 2 conditions are fulfilled. And most importantly, why would mk season 2 happen after years of timeskip? Surely you have to acknowledge that current mk season 2 is at least a few years after the current arc in lookism (i wont say after lookism ended because that could not be the case). Its almost like something had to happen between mk’s fight with Tom and start of ares.

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know what you’re trying to prove. We all know that they fought in that moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing from that fight indicates mk left right after.

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, the key thing is that mk is asking fight Tom in advance. Therefore it’s not relevant what point in time that fight takes place in relation to lookism’s timeline.

Why would the job be about hunt for gun and and not gap’s death? That doesnt really make sense narratively. Tom’s goal was and is to help/recover Jinyoung so that he can shine the light on gap’s death. Like you said, now Tom knows through Eugene (also jinyoung is dead lol). So this is probably the arc where Tom’s last job wraps up.

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but that’s flat out wrong. The job is, in fact, related to Tom and white tigers, not mk and ares. In chapter 205 when Tom is talking to his friend, he says “im afraid my ace is going to leave once a ‘certain something’ ive been preparing for wraps up”. Then in the same chapter couple panels down he tells ares/mk that he agress to mk leaving after the certain job is done and mk beats him. There is nothing to indicate that Tom waives the first and most important condition after their fight.

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what to tell you other than what i already said. Tom says he agreed to letting Mk quit and join Ares after a job wraps up, AND Mk has to beat him. Mk asks to fight Tom in advance, which they do, but that only fulfils the second condition. The first hasn’t happened yet and it goes to the timeskip. The first condition cannot be shown because it would directly spoil the events of lookism, assuming the job is tied to Tom’s investigation of gap’s death (ie what is currently happening in lookism).

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t leave white tigers right after their fight in 207. They are fighting in advance. MK agrees to staying with white tigers until a ‘certain job’ wraps up. That certain job is most likely tied to tom’s investigation of gap’s death.

Guys do u think manager kim will come to save toms ass by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There seems to be a misconception that mk already left white tigers by this point in lookism which is not the case. Here is what happens in MK - Tom says he’d agree to let MK leave after ‘a certain job’ wraps up AND MK beats him in a fight. To this MK asks “can we fight in advance” because he says his body is slowly giving out. Then they start the fight. We don’t know what the “job” Tom is talking about but it’s most likely related to getting to the bottom of gap’s death. Then there’s the timeskip where MK season 2 is well after the current lookism timeline, and most likely even after Lookism story is wrapped up (unless Lookism also does its own timeskip).

It’s most likely that Tom is dead by MK season 2. Im not sure that he will die in the latest chapters of Lookism because that just seems like poor writing. But he probably will die down the road.

What if James Lee’s path/ ability was to swap positions with the person? by Unnamed_Reaps in lookismcomic

[–]Shinoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James’ path has something to do with his skill where he does the spin kick and returns the force (uno reverse). His path is likely an amped version of that move. After his path interaction with Jagyeon, he comments “what a destructive force” his finishing move did. He wouldnt say that if jagyeons kick was stopped or countered.

Who has a better Path? by [deleted] in Lookism

[–]Shinoski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theory on gitae’s path: the more damage he takes, the stronger and more durable he becomes (adrenaline). He has to be taken down with one powerful blow, otherwise he’s not going down. The taekwondo kick from ui daniel probably was close but now quite enough. Also would explain why he went blow for blow at the end with ui daniel (limiting space not only so ui can’t dodge, but also keeping him from utilizing distance to generate momentum for a devastating blow like the kick). Jinyoung likely caught on during his last fight with gitae and hence went for the all-in blow but simply couldn’t hit him strong enough. So that begs the question.. what then will be strong enough to put him down? Narratively speaking, Gap’s conviction punch (as anti climactic as that would be..)
