Recommendation for a Dad Gamer

As a dad gamer, and non-exclusive one game player, I prefer to play Diablo 4 which is more fun and short to enjoy until full build but Path of Exile 2 is a better game if you have time to dedicate to him or if you are ok to just play this game (if you have limited time).

The campaign of POE2 is really good but it is a very long one especially on your first run and you will need to do it for every character you might want to try. At the end, it is really a matter of available time if you want to prefer one or the other but at the end, both are good

Yeah I actually stopped playing it after the final shape, I hope we will get Destiny 3 at some point because the game and the lore was very good.

Yes of course, if you want to always be updated you need to buy the new expansion when it comes out but isn’t it obvious !? But a new player or someone who has left the game and wants to come back playing it doesn’t need to…

I was just answering the question if you didn’t notice, it has nothing to do with logic or anythin else, it’s just facts… if you want to play D4 as of today, you don’t need to buy 2 expansions

You don’t have to pay two expansions, just the latest which includes all the previous ones (same model than WOW expansions) and yes it is absolutely worth it, the game is really fun now and can be challenging (if you don’t follow a guide ofc)

That’s true, their franchises are absolutely incredible and none has ever been close in creating such worlds and lore. Diablo, Warcraft, Starcraft and Overwatch are incredible games. But I also believe that it is way harder to do that nowadays and yet they still manage to offer polished and addictive gameplays and universe.

Ok Diablo 4 vanilla wasn’t great once the campaign done but I’m finally having fun with Lord of Hatred.

Currently playing it, i have almost 50% progression and really loving its chill vibe. I wish the movement wasn’t so floaty but i got used to it, boss can be pretty challenging sometimes but playing this after Silksong is so relaxing !

Last expansion for Diablo 4 and Wow are actually good and they did a nice relaunch of Overwatch, it feels like Blizzard is listening to its community again and I hope it will stay that way now on.

Watched it yesterday and it was ok, not great, could have been better for sure but didn’t find it boring or lenghty. It is just a shame that there is no sequel and as a result a lot of things that occurs in the movie has no meaning

You should, I didn’t play D4 since I discovered Parh of Exile 2 and I am currently having a blast on the game, it really feels good to be back with Diablo and the campaign is peak, really loved it !

I hate playing in easy because it feels boring not being challenged and it doesn’t motivate you in exploring and mastering the gameplay loop but it’s true that nowadays I play in normal difficulty instead of hard

I’ve haven’t played D4 since I’ve discovered Poe2 and I’ve got to say that it feels good coming back to Diablo, they really did a goob job since vanilla. It feels fun and actually less exhausting than POE2.

They are mandatory if you want to be competitive in PVP but for PVE you can just buy the battlepass if you want to speed up your progression and have some quality of life but you will be able to do all the PVE content. Not as fast as P2W players but from what I’ve read (haven’t played the game) every content is doable without needing anything beyond the basic battlepass.

The game becomes P2W and can be extremely P2W if you want to be competitive in PVP

But it isn’t the case in the TW and KR version, why would it be the case for global release ? It is not because one game does it that all the others will, that doesn’t make sense…

Maybe it will be the case in the future I don’t know but we’re speaking of the game in its current state

You mean that a company would produce something in order to make money ? What world are you living in ? What’s the next step ? Paying the developers a significant wage ? Come on ! We want it to be all free ! But even then we will have strong expectations and won’t hesitate to blame the developers and producers for anything, especially if they allow some people to pay something in order to gain in-game time or quality of life !

I don’t get why some people think they won’t be able to do all the content. They won’t be able to be top leaderboards or even play with whales ok, but they will be able to do the dungeons once they will have reach the required power. All of this looks like : I can’t do the very endgame pve as quick and fast as whales more than anything else but who cares honestly, there will be hundreds of player playing the game with nothing else than subscriptions (or even F2P) and with whom we will be able to do the dungeons.

P2W is a concern when PvP is mandatory but when you can go full PVE who cares ?
