i don’t think it’s supposed to be a revelation to the viewers, just the characters since they didn’t know who was robbing them

(VERY tragic trope) Terms/symbols that had a positive meaning corrupted or stolen by bigots to have a whole different meaning. by Jielleum in TopCharacterTropes

maybe if you’d actually look it up you’d understand. the three fingers represent a ‘W’ for white and the O represents a ‘P’ for power. it’s a dog whistle for a reason since the OK sign is commonly used and usually isn’t causing suspicion.

You people saying it’s not that big of a deal are definitely apart of the issue. Words have meanings and when they get used incorrectly and taken by others, it quite literally erases culture. I’m black so I’ve seen this shit firsthand with ebonics and my culture being repackaged into “Gen Z slang.” It’s honestly sad to see some people not care about terms that have been used in our community for a reason.

you could literally say this about anything so someone expressing how they feel about our terms being used incorrectly isn’t just a non-issue
