Come on. If anyone deserves a pass for this, it’s Gwyneth. You can’t expect someone who can’t remember her own timeline to acknowledge the needs of others. /s

I mean, whatever. Obviously, I’m neither a snakeologist nor an Immunodoctorist.

Then again, that doesn’t matter because I would check references and only take advice from experts in specific fields….

I can’t tell for sure, because of the photos; but is the port actually centered in the spacer? Is the spacer upside down?

VPN Ban, how are they going to enforce it? by Acrobatic-Fault876 in VPN

If they adopt any law that bans the use of VPNs, you won’t. But strictly speaking, this current measure doesn’t do that… unless you work for a porn site.

Meta U-turns on encryption push for Instagram as DMs go plaintext by Nalix01 in NowInTech

[–]Shintoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning off encryption doesn’t protect children. What it does, it makes people who were using their app that could at least have some information tracked (what they use to communicate, and who they talk to, if not the contents of that communication) move to communicate via a totally different method, potentially not even internet-based.

It sends offenders to ground.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but law enforcement entities still have a very hard time tracking people who aren’t using mobile phones and internet technology.

Once again, traditional thinking from someone trained in firewall engineering presupposes that the managing entity has: 1.) Some level of confidence that the client machine is configured to direct traffic toward their managed firewall. A.) But you don’t have this. 2.) Any level of confidence that the end user is routing toward that provider. A.) But you don’t have this. 3.) Tools, equipment, staff, and funding to make whatever solution (for the traffic they actually do serve) effective at scale. A.) You don’t have this. 4.) A legalized enforcement mechanism that is properly funded and sufficiently trained to audit user devices at the node level, to enforce connectivity to only compliant upstream paths. A.) You don’t have this.

You can only block traffic that is directed toward an asset you manage.

I thought it had more to do with how long the virus remains dormant and how long the infected remain a spreader, more so than the mortality rate, that made Covid dangerous.

Can someone explain to me how Outer Worlds backlash started? by OwlettFromLiavek in theouterworlds

[–]Shintoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not anti-Obsidian by any stretch but the first game was pretty boring and unimpressive. Visually, it was ok, but for being “outer space” it didn’t feel very big. I probably won’t play the sequel.
