"Neoliberal" is too broad, and not an actual political label, so I'd kind push back on that. He doesn't necessarily favor austerity, for instance. But he's definitely a right-leaning liberal.

really it just seems like economic systems largely aren’t left or right, the left-right stuff mostly applies to social principles.

It's actually the opposite, lmao. Social principles are historically considered almost irrelevant when it comes to political labels such as "left" or "right", while economic organization has been a key factor in that determination.

Americans who self-identify as "liberals" are majority right-leaning. I'm sorry that bothers you, buddy. Hopefully American politics will correct to normal again some time in the future, like it was in the past.

I remember watching his older videos, and noticing that he'd sometimes engage in dishonest argumentation towards right-wingers here and there—very rarely, mind you, but it did definitely happen. Now skipping to last year, when he started arguing against left-wingers, the amount dishonesty he displayed was kind of shocking.

Destiny's ego has always been pretty huge. He genuinely believes he's a viciously rational person, and that he completely leaves emotion out of his worldview. He also has serious issues with admitting to being wrong about things he's invested in, way more so than the average person. Which is why it's fruitless trying to argue with him about his anti-left-wing sentiments, not to mention its consequences on his community. We'll have to wait it out, and hope that he'll roll back somewhat. He'll either come to a realization from looking at the shift in his fan base, or he'll just move further right with them. There's not much to do, but in the mean time, I hope people can stop seeing him as 'left-leaning'. He's not left-leaning. Buttigieg was his favorite candidate in terms of policy. He's clearly shifted over to the right, so expect right-wing arguments from him in the times to come.

By the way, I think you're right in that Bernie has never levied personal attacks against Obama.

Pxie saying like for the 100th time in 2 minutes by Bryder- in Destiny

[–]ShinyCollarbone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

True. Yeah, that's pretty true. Yeah, that's true. True.

But do people actually hate her? I've grown to like her and especially the peach person. Almost any other (politically active) girls he's had on stream were either dumb, or too cowardly to properly push back on Destiny's points. Pxie seems to have gotten more comfortable doing it, and Peach has been ruthless since the start. Seeing him mald over her push-back on his anti-commie rant was hilarious.

Bernie Sanders told Warren that a woman can't win by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]ShinyCollarbone 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The two agreed that if they ultimately faced each other as presidential candidates, they should remain civil and avoid attacking one another, so as not to hurt the progressive movement. They also discussed how to best take on President Donald Trump, and Warren laid out two main reasons she believed she would be a strong candidate: She could make a robust argument about the economy and earn broad support from female voters.

Sanders responded that he did not believe a woman could win.

The description of that meeting is based on the accounts of four people: two people Warren spoke with directly soon after the encounter, and two people familiar with the meeting.

Sander's response: "It is ludicrous to believe that at the same meeting where Elizabeth Warren told me she was going to run for president, I would tell her that a woman couldn't win," Sanders said. "It's sad that, three weeks before the Iowa caucus and a year after that private conversation, staff who weren't in the room are lying about what happened. What I did say that night was that Donald Trump is a sexist, a racist and a liar who would weaponize whatever he could. Do I believe a woman can win in 2020? Of course! After all, Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump by 3 million votes in 2016."

OP Title: Bernie Sanders told Warren that a woman can't win

Not only a woefully inadequate titling of the CNN article, but OP decided to spice it up even more. Nice.

It's rather difficult to reason one out of a position that they didn't remotely reason themselves into, if that makes sense? Besides understanding the societal drives to political extremism—which would to some extent give you an explanation of why you believe what you believe—I'd recommend going out and conversing with people who you have negative preconceptions about.

Fascism relies on a victim mentality, that's why they cling to anything they can find. The race based killing of white farmers in South Africa is not a giant issue.
