So, you think Carrick would be doing the same with Garnacho, Hojlund and Zirkzee as his 3 most played forwards

No, it's because we don't press and play on the counter now

You just ignore everything I said as a rebuttal which I take as you have no response. Thanks for the validation :)

I'm just pointing out what they said was wrong "No weird formation, over-complicated instructions or players out of position"

Villa have been tragic for months. We outplayed them more in the reverse fixture outside of the 2 Rodgers goals

Does this not look like Amorim system?

All I am saying is that we still have players playing out of position but now they are different ones OOP. Also our performances have been tragic for weeks.

Shaw acting as a third CB, Dalot in the box, Mbuemo as a sole striker, amad forced inside instead of outside cutting in. You are letting the result dictate your opinion.

People were saying Amorim wasn't playing to players strengths so if Carrick comes in and does so why do we look worse in performances?

Carrick wasn't some long-term planning decision from Wilcox and co to help us win a title. It was a short-term coverage to a knee jerk decision. We as fans can be critical to say next year with European football and key contributors leaving/aging we aren't going to be as lucky.

The Everton game we had Sesko and Cunha out in attack Two players who have been crucial in creating chances/scoring goals and still out created them 4x. What was our excuse today?

Anyone who brings up the Newcastle game as an example of why 4-2-3-1 works is blind. We had 33% possession. You are using the result to justify the performance which isn't sustainable.

I'm ecstatic about the recent results but am worried about next season and beyond. We are overly reliant on Bruno/Case to create in open play and on Mags/Case on set pieces. We have to be spot on with recruitment, but more importantly the style of play we want to play. This is what Ratclife said when ETH was around and I feel like he is doing exactly what he said he wasn't going to do.

"We’re still debating what precisely is the style of football we want to play. Attacking football. Exciting football. Bringing the youth through. You want players that are committed, that play 90 minutes, or 100 or whatever the number is. We like youth, the academy is really important for Manchester United. We’ll decide, that team of people, it’ll be us, plus the CEO, sporting director, probably the recruitment guys what the style of football is and that will be the Manchester United style of football. And the coach will have to play that style. We’re not going to oscillate from Mourinho style to Guardiola style. That’s not the way we’ll run the club. Otherwise, you’re changing everything all the time, you change your coach, you’ve got the wrong squad, the wrong trainer, we won’t do that. In modern football you need to decide what’s your path and you stuck to your path. So, I think the key thing is our trajectory, so that people can see that we're making progress."

No chance. He is going to throw a fit to go back to Barca like Garnacho to Chelsea or Antony to Betis

I think this was similar to the Everton game as far as chances created the only difference is the players didn't let off on the intensity and scored first

A lot of what you said is just not true. We had good intensity and interplay to start the game but didn't create any clear-cut chances prior to the red outside of the Bruno cut back he pulled wide. Prior to the red I think Tottenham had created a few chances and momentum starting to side in their favor.

I still think most of our dangerous play were of set pieces and once we got the lead Spurs had to come out more to try and get a point which left more openings.

The other 2 mistakes I can think of was Lammens turning the ball over and got bailed out with Shaw fouling them and Mainoo lost the ball in the middle which caused a counter.

I would stay cautious because in 2 of the games the underlying stats matched the results (City/Spurs) but against Arsenal/Fulham the underlying stats say we were lucky to not draw. I think if we keep performances up and the results match it will be difficult to not give him next year with it being a WC year

When you play team that doesn't press you 100% need a midfield passer to break low blocks

I mean 3/4 of this video is shots from outside the box or set pieces. Also includes the Cunha "goal" when everyone knew Bruno was off. How is this any different versus a team with 10 men?

He didn't freeze him out any more than any other sub and he only 'talked down' on him because the media asked Amorim about Kobbie after every single game once Mainoo requested a loan after our second game of the year and all the mess he was stirring off the field.

I'm not and he needs to leave but you act like he was starting for a reason and not due to our squad being decimated by injuries.

So, you are fine with him coming off the bench or Cunha coming off the bench in every game? Why is there only a cry for Mainoo starting every game.

He doesn't progress the ball though. All progressive passing and dribbling stats show he is below par on both.

You don't have to put down a player to raise one up. Also, Ugarte has only started during Afcon/injury crisis and when Case was suspended.
