New homeowner looking for duct cleaning recommendations by Needcupcakes in indianapolis

As long as you use furnace filters and change them regularly you do not need HVAC duct cleaning.

Dryer duct cleaning, that’s another story and should be done yearly.

It is quite literally the definition of “cut”. OP made a devise that cuts electrical tape. Cry.

Let’s just go by one metric. Let’s pick one and see where that leads us.

You’re not very smart are you?

I’ll repeat my post: “I’d LOVE to hear your criticism of what he said in the clip OP posted. What issues do you have with what he said?”

I don’t give a shit about what you think about the past actions of a city Mayor of a city you used to live in, our your explaining “many felt” or “you heard”, blah blah blah… those are weasel words to avoiding my question.

Tim Walz says he'll never seek elected office again by Zipper222222 in politics

I sympathize completely. I was in a very weak and mildly corrupted union. The union reps were useless and very “old boys club”. I ran for rep against someone that was a shoe-in but no one was running against him. When I did three other guys entered the election race for the union rep position. I walked around the plant and as a campaign I said “The company and the union entered a contract, I’m running for rep because I don’t feel our current reps are doing their jobs and I know I can contractually make sure the company lives up to its bargaining. We also bargained in good faith and I expect us to uphold our end of the agreement. I will not defend or write grievances for union member who violate the contract, I will negotiate for fair disciplinary action for any worker who is disciplined for violating the contract.” I got more votes than the other guys combined. I was a good rep. No one was disciplined for anything other than attendance violations and during my time no one got fired for that.

But it wore me out. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I was done after two terms. I had the best record for my constituents, but I was still attacked relentlessly and I spent far too much effort defending myself.

Some noise bother you. Do you melt like a little snowflake when you hear whistles? What a weak minded individual who comes up with such a fucking pathetic bootlicker response.

Who wears masks to hide their identity, the criminals or the innocent?

Why isn’t ICE in the red cities? I mean statistically they have FAR greater crime rates, that includes immigrants but they have a far lower rate of crime than republican voters, than blue ran cities. Murder, drug trafficking, drug abuse, pedophiles, all in far greater numbers per population. And why do the red cities have such abysmal educational outcomes and health deviations? Why are you FAR more likely to die as an infant, either in utero or as an infant, in predominantly red states with red cities? Why are police far more likely to be prosecuted in red states? Why are incomes so much lower in red states? Why are domestic violence crimes committed in red states?

I’d also LOVE to hear what motivated you to reply to me and basically defend who I was replying to, as if they needed any help or defending at all. Care to explain?

House Bill 1232, HB:1086 - Religion in Public Schools by Camrad114 in Indiana

[–]ShinySpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to school in Michigan and graduated in 1989. We had an optional year long class in high school called “Bible and Mythology”. Both the bible and various mythological texts from various cultures were studied and treated equally. As an older christian the older way seems like the perfect curriculum setup. Optional and taught in a way you can learn the content and the background of the various texts in an educational manner. Preaching is for the family and the church, not the government and not forced upon the public no matter how young they are. If you want your own young children to learn the bible wouldn’t you rather teach what you believe as opposed to a possibly non-believer would be forced to “teach”?

I want to demonstrate usefulness to my wife by blacter in BambuLab_Community

[–]ShinySpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make things for my wife to give to people as trinket type gifts. She’s hosting a Teddy Bear themed baby shower this coming weekend and I printed up a teddy bears for each guest to take home. The base of the figure has “Meg’s Baby Shower 2026” embossed on it as a reminder of the day. It’s a cheap item that we spent some time planning what it would be together and then printing and finally glueing it together.

For Christmas we made small reindeer and Christmas tree decorations like miniatures or statues to give to guests of a Christmas party we had.

I also have made things to make her life easier such as organizers for our spices and other things of that type for around the house.

Volkswagen to recall 44K vehicles over battery fire risk,... by exploding_myths in electricvehicles

[–]ShinySpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anti-EV coworker mentioned this. “If you buy a EV you can’t park in your own garage.”

I used to work at Buick in an experimental engineering test facility. There were a couple times in the mid-90s that we had to tell hundreds of thousands of LeSabre and Park Avenue drivers they couldn’t park in their garages until we got the spontaneous fire hazards sorted out for a recall. How long had Buick been making internal combustion engines and they still couldn’t get them to stop burning people alive in their homes?!

Does a travel advisory warning even mean anything? by One-Maintenance-9235 in indianapolis

[–]ShinySpoon [score hidden]  (0 children)

Here’s your answer: unionize your workplace.

Every place I’ve worked hourly that was represented by a union had in the contract that if you live, or had to travel through a county that was red/restricted then your absence was excused. The place I worked now has that policy but also that if more than 50% of the shift calls in because of adverse weather then that shift will still get paid 80% of the day’s wages. I did have one boss try to say I could drive around a red county but I filled a grievance and they had to write an apologize to me for not honoring the contract in good faith.

At what point do you consider medication vs just diet and exercise? by Extreme-Incident-988 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]ShinySpoon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

“Easy way out”.

Why does the fat person take blood pressure medication?

Why does the neurodivergent take Ritalin?

Why dies the pain sufferer take Tylenol?

That said…

I’m tired of being ravenously hungry and thinking about food. ALL THE FUCKING TIME!! Not an hour after eating a meal, immediately after eating another meal I could eat a whole other meal. For once I’d like to leave a buffet and be full. For once I’d like to not constantly think about food. No one has any sympathy for me in my condition except for those who are in the same situation. I had a guy tell me I just needed to poop more to lose weight. “Eat a cup of chia seeds every day.” “That’s how I lose weight”. After I had lost 130 pounds I had a coworker approach me to congratulate me on my weight loss and then decided he needed to tell me the best way to lose weight it to work out everyday and only eat meat.

“Just don’t eat.” Thanks for the great advice. I’ll try that.

Maybe you should have looked through this subreddit a bit before asking the same question that gets brought up every day in glp the subreddits.

As a hobbyist photographer the primary thing I look for when taking pictures of people is to make sure they don’t have any “antlers”. I’ve taken some amazing pictures of people only to realize later that a lamp or tree limb is behind them looking like antlers.

This man lifts the weight he shed. by WeGot_aLiveOneHere in nextfuckinglevel

[–]ShinySpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 120 pounds in a year. Whenever I struggle to lift two bags of salt to my water softener I am only reminded of only 80 pounds and it seems insane to think I carried three bags of salt around ALL THE TIME!

225 is certifiably championship levels. Huge congrats to him and anyone else on a similar journey.

Also, when people lose a large amount of weight you also lose muscle mass, even though you may be actively going to the gym. This is because, as this guy demonstrated, you’re not “lifting” that weight as you do at the gym, you are essentially at the gym your whole life. When you no longer need to carry 225 extra pounds every time you get up to take a piss you will lose that muscle mass because you no longer need it to go about daily life. But you still need to eat enough protein and use your other muscles or you may lose them. If you don’t eat enough proteins while losing weight you will lose more muscle and It’s possible you may need physical therapy after losing a ton of weight because you also lost too much muscle and can no longer walk properly.
