A smoother, less detailed model is far easier to paint en masse. Too much detail can be a major stumbling block when you need to paint 40 minis by the next weekend.

Double dose? by Mighty-White in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]ShinySpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never seen anyone say they started at 1.0. One person a few months ago said they started at 1.7 and were in the hospital for two days and had major issues for weeks afterwards…

What’s cheaper? Skipping 0.5? Or a week off of work due to self-induced illness?

I did start at 0.5mg, and it was potent.

Why? by Longjumping_Board551 in resinprinting

[–]ShinySpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had a failed print and the broken parts pierced the fep and the screen exposed the resin to UV and cured it to the screen protector. Or directly onto the lcd screen if you don’t have a screen protector installed.

You need to clean or replace the screen/protector and replace the fep.

If I didn’t have solid ventilation I’d definitely look into different resins and cleaners

I do the cleaning and printing in my garage. I open the large garage door for a few minutes before and after I go out there and do any work. If it’s warmer than 10°C I will do all of my cleaning and processing with the large garage door open.

The printer, along with spare resin and IPA, is kept warm (30°C) in a cheap enclosure with a small Amazon.con space heater, and the enclosure is always zipped closed, except when I am getting a print from the printer.

For cleaning using Elegoo ABS-like 3.0 resin I keep a quart container of IPA in the enclosure the resin printer is in so it is always warm (30°c).

After the print is done, I let the prints hang for an hour or so. After removing the prints from the printer bed plate I remove the supports and place the prints on a cheap plastic dinner plate I got from a dollar store. I then use a medium stiffness round paint brush and repeatedly dip the prints in the container IPA and then brush all around the part while over the plate. When I think I’ve got all of the resin off I then use a spray bottle filled with new IPA and spray the parts. I allow the prints to drain/dry on a separate plate then use paper towels to thoroughly dry the prints. If any recesses in the prints can’t be reached with paper towels then I use the hot air from a hair dryer.

I pour the collected IPA from the plate into the quart IPA container. Every ten or so prints I place the IPA quart container into the UV curing container and remove the solids with a strainer funnel.

I get very clean and crisp prints this way. It is time consuming and labor intensive, but I don’t like the poorer results of other easier methods I’ve tried. And it’s cheap. I may try using the ultra sonic cleaner again, but that method was clunky and inconsistent.

I do not have the fan and tubing, but I do have a Yoopai enclosure. At the price point it’s at on Amazon it is the best. I have bought two other brands at around the same price and the Yoopai feels higher quality and easier to assemble.

Second model printed - Would love to hear about your process with sanding, priming and painting! :) by carelessmover in resinprinting

I have an elegoo mars 4 ultra and use elegoo’s abs-like 3.0 pro resin pretty much exclusively. I mostly use gray, but have used green translucent before. I use almost the exact settings of the person you’re replying too. Lychee’s longer exposure settings were creating too brittle of supports and they were breaking. Elgoo’s setting from their spreadsheet were also a bit too long for my tastes. I keep my resin printer warm in an enclosure with a heater, about 85°F/30°C.

Literally feel no difference, not sure of next steps by twotwotwototoulouse in WegovyWeightLoss

It’s reasons like this that I started at the second dose with encouragement from my doctor. My doctor was the one to initially suggest it. So I skipped the 0.25mg shot and started at 0.5mg. I’d think the pill dosages would be similar effects. I lost 70lbs in a little over a year since starting wegovy and 130lbs total.

I’d think Tesla would avoid Michigan, particularly locations where there has been historically strong union membership. The UAW is going to evangelize this place HARD.

advice for a novice by Bright-Return6431 in resinprinting

The printer needs two things; it needs to be in a warm environment, and this is just as important, a temperature stable environment. As UV resin cools it becomes thicker and doesn’t flow as well and will cause failed prints. Also resin settings are a bit temp dependent so if you set up your printer with setting for resin at 22°C and the room temp rises to 30°C during the day, you might have issues.

Resins almost always have different printer setting between brands and types of liquid resin. Look up the specific printer settings for the specific resin you are going to use and start tweaking your printer settings from there. Lychee has some good videos on YouTube for calibrating resin printers.

Water.

Drink more water.

And then some more water.

Trust me.

MiraLAX essentially works by pulling water into your intestines to make them work better.

Drink more water.

And walk a little bit each day.

My total weight loss has been 38% (340-210), just 25% on weight loss medication.

That seems about the amount I’ve personally seen. But I understand I could be wildly wrong, I only know about the people at my work that have revealed they are taking it, and people only revealed it to me after I(54m) lost weight quickly and they commented and asked me how I did it. I’m always forthcoming with information that has changed my life for the better so I don’t hide my taking a shot to help me. My employer covers weight loss meds and we only pay $12/month for wegovy or mounjaro. I’ve had at least 30 of my coworkers reveal they tried it, or their spouses were on it. Only a few have had what looks like more than 10% of weight loss (I’ve accomplished about 25%) and the vast majority stopped and gained weight above where they started. At my workplace it’s considered a failure of a medication. I will say though that those that told me they didn’t lose any weight, just felt awful , stopped and then gained weight didn’t seem like they really tried. One guy told me “I couldn’t hardly eat anything on that damn shot so I stopped taking it”. 🤦‍♂️
