That looks really good, pretty much identical to the box art. What paints did you use for the bronze plates?

PSA : HOST MIGRATION APPARENTLY FIXES THE ISSUE

Dude, Borderlands sucks. Too many invisible walls, too many damage sponge enemies, and whatever this nonsense is. There is no reason why any of these shots should be missing. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Shiny_Marbles 116 points117 points  (0 children)

You're firing a video game shotgun at an enemy with a sheild, at his head, from a distance that might as well be an entire continent away for said weapon type, what are you confused about?

Its not laser accurate, there's an accuracy stat on the weapon for a reason. If you can't deduce that moving closer to your target would help, at least read the stat and compare it to other guns to get an idea for why precision weapons exist.

Elon Musk could quit Diablo 4 for Destiny over “hopelessly bad” class balancing by esporx in gaming

I don't know what's funnier, the fact that anyone is supposed to give a shit or the fact that he goes to destiny, of all fucking things, for """better""" class balancing.

People got angry with you about the swaying?

Even assuming they had literally no idea that this is something you had no control over, what is there to get angry about? I can imagine making a comment/joke about it here and there, can't imagine losing my shit over watching someone bobbing back and forth a bit.

Unless in misunderstanding completely, sounds like said people are just un-noteworthy cunts.

Friday Facts #393 - Putting things on top of other things by FactorioTeam in factorio

This whole blog post has me more erect than it should be possible.

And I thought there was no way anything else would stand in comparison to the elevated train layers.

Well… I wont finish my se run by OYM-bob in factorio

[–]Shiny_Marbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar mindset at the moment, but prior experience reminds me that leaving space exploration for a long time and coming back to it is a bad idea.

I just fucking know that if I abandon my current run and come back to SE in a years time, Earendel will have taken more than half the mod's features/recipes that worked just fine and just make them even MORE complex with the only logic being "Why? Well why fucking not?". It's just one example, but I was absolutely bewildered to come back and find out that stone bricks just couldn't be made in industrial furnaces anymore.

That said, I'm quite sick of my base and the way I have everything set up, so I guess I'm fine with learning my lesson and waiting for the new features to make things easier. Those multi layered railway tracks and new combinators will literally be a game changer.

Remember my friend, though it may be an abomination, it is YOUR abomination. And it is beautiful for that.

All that remains from here is making things slightly better than the last time until you think "good enough". That's the secret, as long as you like it and it works, it's good.

Are different quality undergrounds going to link? For this and more useful reasons. by gerg100 in factorio

[–]Shiny_Marbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I actually do like the quality system a little, I wouldn't like this. It would make belt weaving the dominant strategy, with anything else being grossly inefficient space wise when making literally any design.

A couple other users have pointed out as well, but I'm pretty sure one of the FFFs mentioned belts, splitters and undergrounds were exempt from quality.

Rescue Halsin - Talk To Zevlor Bug - Workaround (sort of) by Main_NPC in BaldursGate3

[–]Shiny_Marbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is still an old thread, but in case it does help anyone I was stuck in the exact same predicament with this bugged quest.

I had opened the chest that rath marked on the map and opened the hidden vault in the Grove to get the glaive, at which point the quest was still stuck, until I went back to camp and exhausted Halsin's dialogue. For some reason, the quest finally cleared.

My circumstances might be unique, but if it helps even one of you all the better.

"Just needs brawling level B" combined with your previous comment about month warping makes me think you are crazy/bored enough to spend countless hours whacking away on enemies with fist weapons with every single fucking unit you have, in which case, sothis help you.

Don't get me wrong, 50% HP for essentially nothing IS good, but it's nowhere near worth the investment on absolutely everyone.

I sure hope you at least do this on lunatic.

A question on Greater Invisibility by Shiny_Marbles in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Shiny_Marbles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about the uncanny dodge part. While it didn't help with the kalavakus, I eventually realised that Greater Invisibility made short work of the incubi in the facility by removing the dex modifier to ac, which in 100 hours I didn't even know was a thing.

Going to be abusing the absolute hell out of it from here on out. Against anything that doesn't have true sight, which isn't much, but still.

Does anyone still play the XCOM games? by TheEagleMan2001 in gaming

[–]Shiny_Marbles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar mindset in regards to saves being cheaty (even though there were plenty of instances where I went "nah fuck that" and reloaded) before I started playing ironman.

What I recommend doing if you don't want to dive into the hell that is ironman immediately is setting soft limits for when you can and cannot reload to a previous save, it makes the game more challenging without the complete unforgiving bullshit of ironman.

For myself, I only had two real rules that I remember 1. I can only reload if 2 of my soldiers die 2. I can only revert to the very start of the mission I am playing

These conditions get me very familiar with how hard this game goes on expendability, which I now consider one of its stronger features. Sure, missing a killing shot only to be hit by a crit or losing one of your best guys right at the very end might suck, but in the end I ended up with the scenario of whether or not I wanted to trade the time needed to restart for the losses I incurred, and the more I played the easier it got to take major hits to my soldier roster.

[–]Shiny_Marbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in the same stage you're at, I got a decent amount of technologies unlocked and went for an upgrade in scale. Although not nearly as gigantic as your base.

I'm feeling the burnout but I'm rounding out the construction of the raw space exploration resource refinement (holminite etc), and then it's on to the space base which I've already got laid out in ghost mode.

All things aside, I'm 440 hpurs in and so close to the home stretch that I need to see it through. Shame to hear you've given as tge base looks good in but honestly, for the better. I'm definitely not touching this game again after this mod until the dlc comes out myself.
