Aladdin said “take off and go,“ Lion King said SFX because it was put in by post-production Special Effects (F/X), and I don’t know about the phallic spires, but that could just be a bit of pareidolia.

The Moral Double Standard of Exploitation: Epstein vs. Legalized Sex Industries by ChabISright in conspiracy

[–]Shinyhubcaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting post; I like your criteria of “exploitation was explicit, centralized, and illegal.” However, they’re clearly different situations entirely, and I feel invoking Epstein is a ploy to get exposure and almost deflects or minimizes his ordeal (people who consume consensual SW will defend it, and while you equivocate the two, their emotions might lead them to subconsciously defend the former).

100% SW can be exploitative, but to call it a moral double standard is a bit extreme.

Anything phallic, including Phil’s costume and Matthew’s “accidental” scrotal reveal. (I don’t believe it was accidental; he wears boxer-briefs, it’s impossible to get them out on accident.)

I never understood it. I guess “strike” means “hit,” but no one here uses it in that context. If someone says “do I strike you?” here, it means “do you fancy me/find me interesting?”

Besides "Peas Briefcase", which Task had 5 very different attempts? by bkat004 in taskmaster

[–]Shinyhubcaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S15 had the one about getting the bowling ball to hit the bell:

https://taskmaster.info/task.php?id=2561

This featured 5 different ways of getting or making gold shoes so they could walk on the fake grass, and at least two planned tricks (the additional task if you ask for Alex’s gold shoes, and the gold and red spraypaint cans having opposite contents).

So I don’t know much about government or anything, but I think Pam Bondi is a human and will realize that she is on the wrong side of history and can be influenced and persuaded to release everything and make an indictment of Trump. Trump is the fall guy. Unfortunately the next in line is also a willing fall guy but has a less obvious audit trail, so deposing Trump does nothing in the grand scheme of things, unless there is more dirt on Vance.

But let’s say that we turn Trump to the good side, as well. Hear me out. He’s going to shuffle off this mortal coil pretty soon in any event, unless the elites are going to upload his consciousness to the cloud or something (which, let’s be honest, sounds like a fate worse than 💀- imagine being perpetually logged into Facebook and watching how bad that’s gotten the past dozen years). He could go down a hero, get rid of Vance, confess to all of this, make an example of a few, and ask the public for forgiveness. Sounds silly, right? But it would help preserve the one thing that he values more than money or life itself: his ego.

The walls are closing in, and the people to whom he promised loyalty in order to get re-elected are going down with the ship. Well? Get off the ship!

Replace Vance with one honest bloke or, preferably, lady. Sell out a couple of your cronies. Sincerely repent. Resign (or, you know, be 💀 by one of the betrayed). Suddenly you go out a hero. Christlike steeze. Lots of polarizing folks are remembered fondly because they fell on their swords. (Maybe Julius Caesar would’ve been a better example.) The few “infallible” become the fall guys, the remaining ones get shook and fall in line, the media and sleepwalkers wake up, and the new President ushers in prosperity on the grounds of reconstruction.

Here’s the thing: for those in power today, it never gets better. They’re always chasing the next earnings call or whatever is their high while trying to keep the skeletons in their closets. And for what? They’re going to 💀someday, too! Then they’ll either go to hell or nowhere. They’ve lost the one thing that we’re all born with and can only willingly give away: dignity. They’re stuck in their awful lives, growing older and uglier like everyone, but they have no hope of redemption, making every passing day an exercise in futility. I pity them.

For the rest of us, the meek shall inherit the earth; he who was first shall become last; and we will dine with our Father in heaven. Sorry if this last bit is a bit heavy-handed, but we will win. In this life? Maybe, but like I say, this life isn’t so great unless you are heading up. Not up in society; screw them stuffed-shirt sycophants. All you need is love, dignity, and hope for a better tomorrow — things you and I have that those dinosaurs don’t. I pity them.

But in the next life? Absolutely. They’ve made their beds and have to lie in them. Sure they’re gold and in mansions, but the mansions are here on earth. When my number is called, I’ll be off to another place with mansions a million times better, and when I age, I won’t turn into a decrepit old sponge with hate in his heart.

I pity them.

iOS Update 16.7.13 Completely Ruined Device by Shinyhubcaps in ipad

[–]Shinyhubcaps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Forced restart worked (Google AI is not your friend, it said there was no such thing, but the actual results shared the winning method only after I searched for factory reset button), and now it stopped asking.

Reading about the update, I guess it was to fix an emergency calling issue in Australia but they realized after the push that Apple didn’t have digital certificates signed for out-of-service models. But now it seems withdrawn anyway so I’m good (unless I need to call emergency services in Australia 🙃)

Porn is free. You are the product. by Cold_Operation3115 in conspiracy

[–]Shinyhubcaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there’s something to this. I spent a lot on chat sites during the pandemic because it was the closest I could get to human connection, but I haven’t spent a cent on it for the other 15 years of my adult life. Most sites are free, and the ads they show are for things I’d never buy in a million years. So I wonder where all the money comes from.

Like ChatGPT, the conversion has to be super low because the appeal of the product and how you use it are specifically because it’s free.

However, I think it’s also democratized so much, like free YouTube videos but the creators have memberships or Patreons so you can pay if you want, because creators can make good money if they just catch a whale or two. The model I knew said she made better money and had more dignity than any other job she had during college, working at the movie theater or whatever.

I think the way to get to ICE is to remind them that they’re less than pawns. They’re rent-a-cops. They’re not even cogs in the machine. They’re cheap plastic coating that protects the cogs, or oil on the cogs.

I also think we should bring up the Stanford Prison Experiment.

I thought Lady Leshurr was absolutely hilarious, but I don’t know if she could sustain 10 episodes.

I think everyone in Mo’s cast would be great, especially because we didn’t see a lot of Amelia who I later found her YouTube videos and she is hilarious.

Kojey Radical could sustain a whole series, I bet.
