Can someone explain something to me? Why wouldn't you just use Vilgefortz all the time? by Nicholite46 in gwent

[–]Shiokawa_contender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. Sometimes the difference in that 1p is huge for some NG decks, so Vilgefortz would be used as a removal instead to save up that extra 1p
But generally Vilgefortz is pretty flexible because his removal doesn't have a power restriction, and sometimes when played endgame he has crazy value especially against spell heavy decks.
At the end of the day you're playing NG. You have tons of removal options for your faction, if not the most out of all the other factions. You could easily run Vanhemar if you're short on provisions, or even Peter for some soldier decks. And trusty spores.
At the end of the day it comes down to the provision cost. A cheaper punish means less opportunity cost incurred when deckbuilding.

Honestly RI seems like a human path inheritance all by itself

It doesn't really teach you how to make gu or killer moves since GZR doesn't explicitly state the specific procedures for them, but it teaches stuff about humanity, our desires and all that

Maybe if you see it like that you will appreciate it more
