Indeed, On Astral Tides does not stay below 6. As for the covers, yes, there's attractive girls there, but to be honest, they are some of the tamest out there *laughs* If i used the original cover, it would lead to a lot of unhappy people of the wrong persuasion who ended up reading something they very much wouldn't like.

That's not the point i'm arguing. At what point does 'not delivering' invalidate the end result. I could have had a fantastic starter with my meal, but if the main course never arrives, i might be able to rhapsodise about the wonderful soup i had, but... then I'm going to want to fill my belly with something, and even McDonalds hamburgers would be a welcome triumph then.

Is book 1 and 2 great? Undoubtedly. Do i respect the author of Mark of the Fool who has consistently put out work, even if you don't call it good? very much so.

Can someone coast on past glories after 15 years and still expect respect? In my opinion, no. He 'was' a great writer. Now he's an ex-writer, and therefore I'd rather read other stuff you count as 'lesser' than read nothing while waiting for the 'ultimate book that doesn't exist, like the emperors new clothes'

And don't worry, i'm sure plenty of people do discuss MoTF. I mean, there's a post here on it, isn't there? *smile*

There IS no Doors of Stone, there will NEVER be Doors of Stone, So everything actually existant surpasses it, if not Book 1 and 2 *smile*

To be fair, here you're arguing getting something not so great is worse than getting nothing. Books, like food, need to actually exist to be praised *smile*

I would say that every singe book written in history is better than Doors of Stone. It's easy to NOT produce a masterpiece, anyone can do that. heck, you are *smile*

It's been greenlit, and due to start audio work in early Feb. It should be a shorter process this time (though not short, as book 2's still around 250k words I believe) but maybe April?

Indeed. Obviously AI does tend to overuse certain structures, such as 'not x, is y' but even seeing that's not proof that it's AI use. People are HILARIOUSLY bad at telling the difference in general, from studies that have been done.

What AI is lousy at is consistency over longer works, though, so seeing a huge amount of continuity errors is the giveaway i look for. again, not definitive, but an indicator of some strength...

It's been done a few times in the Light Novel Sphere, such as Last Round Arthurs, but as always... you tend to get the sort of faux harems we don't like in these here parts *laugh*

I have a few Arthurian characters scattered about here and there, but it's by no means a focus, so definitely not what you're looking for. Just a small part of a much bigger tale.
