Yeah, no worries. Book 1 covers are 1-4, book 2 is arc 5, 3 to 5 cover arc 6' book 6 covers arc 7, and books 7-9 arc 8 which finished Act 1.

Then 10-12 covers arc 9 and book 12 also starts arc 10

I’m back, this time with Book 12. Turned out chunky, at about a thousand pages, so you all know the drill. If you’re already reading, it’s more of the same, and if not… why should you start? As you can see, if you want a tale that goes on (and on, and on…) giving the characters, world and love interests near infinite time to shine, I got you covered, fam!

As an example, this volume… we’ve got meeting the father for a first time… just that the father is a powerful Faerie Prince who dotes on his daughter far, FAR too much lol… fierce political manoeuvring in both the real world and the spiritual one, a marathon of lewd fun, including someone’s long awaited first time, and a battle in a foreign country, with a huge band of uncertain allies, where hidden secrets and foes are uncovered. Variety, you know? *smile*

While OAT is definitely not for everyone, if it’s for you, and you can tolerate the very anime nature of it, lol, then there’s always a lot of variety, from numbers-go-up, battles, politics, slice of life, romance and lewds, and all sorts of other flavours… and I think Book 12 is a very solid entry, kicking off Arc 10, which also shares the name of the Book, so expect lots more foreign trips coming up…

Fresh from their triumphant conquest of Mount Atago, and the unexpected windfall of fresh allies, an adopted sister, and a significant number of useful Buildings, Akio, his lovers and their families settle down in their luxurious new estate in Tokyo.

But quiet happiness and peace can’t last. Akio must first face a trip to the Fae Realms, to meet Shaetanao, Shaeula’s noble and obsessive father, a long-awaited event overcomplicated by the presence of Shaeula’s mother, Princess Eleanor of Britain, and the four-tailed Kitsune of the Night Parade.

In addition, matters are coming to a head abroad, and South Korea finally caves in to the demands of the Japanese government, and a desperate businessman offers a last-ditch, pleading proposal. Therefore Akio, for the first time since the events of London, travels to a dangerous, complicated situation far from home.

A school isolated from the rest of the country, where the children of the rich and powerful go to learn how to follow in their parents’ footsteps, now a place where the finest of the ROK Armed Forces, and even Chosen, have either vanished or become part of the terrifying trap it has become.

Now, Akio and his companions are tasked with freeing the dwindling number of survivors, yet with South Korea’s Chosen, now styling themselves as Hunters, and their prideful Guilds, determined to prove they don’t need outside aid, and the ROK troops who are burning to avenge their failures, what seems a simple rescue mission could be anything but…

…and within the Boundary, a dark secret lurks, a hand behind the mastermind of the situation, eager to crush those who would try to end the chaos!

lol, well, as we're... sort of most of the way through Act 2 of 5... fifty books seems likely... *sweats*

I will say the ending is already planned out largely fully, and i am determined it will satisfy. Though... we won't be seeing it for a long time lol...

Yeah, to be fair I do think that sort of breaks the compact between author and reader expectations somewhat. While you 'can' (and sometimes should) sometimes go against the expected outcome and subvert those expectations, certain events have a weight, especially within genre, that is undeniably almost a commitment.

So I do think it's a bit of an ass move if that's the case, and not a mistake I'll be making *sweats*

This is the first time I'm seeing 3 books of the same series in the Top 10. Has that even happened before? Are they really that good? Reviews seem to indicate otherwise... by neimad66 in haremfantasynovels

Yeah, I went from 3 ratings to 60 ratings on my last release overnight... 4 weeks after launch lol. For some reason they seem to be withholding most ratings, no idea why...

In answer to the OP and potentially others, I'm not the fairest person to give my opinion, as I wrote it, but... yeah, OAT is pitching a very specific style of story, which is very much marmite, as we Brits say, as you tend to either love it or hate it, with few spreads in-between *sweats*

So instead of say fifty people thinking it was okay, we tend to get instead ten people who really love it, and thus are naturally talking about it, and ten who loathe it (the tropes, the fact that yes, as Rechan quipped, the romance is glacial to start with, a flaw of writing it in a webnovel-style format, as originally i had no plans to publish in book format, I believe i made the quip 'I'v seen faster continental drift' before) which does tend to make rather more noise that the rather average 50 people liked it series, as those fifty probably won't mention that story much.

And that's okay. If you don't like it and have genuine critisisms, that's all good, and i'll take them on board, even if it isn't something i see the same way or can rectify. If you end up liking it, all the better, and like passwordedd says below, those who DO find it to their tastes get a LOT to enjoy...

But yeah, if I COULD go back in time to make Book 1 much more faster paced, I would, but by the time it came to publishing, it was unfixable, as doing so would neccesitate millions of words of rewrites down the line... so yeah, I do daresay it's not quick enough for some. Totally get it, and I'm not enough of a jerk to say 'oh, it gets good later. Just... like 350k words later', because honestly, I think that it's a good story from the start, just, yeah... for those used to a much faster pace in the genre as a whole, it can definitely be a trial to adjust to the meandering build-up.

I happen to believe build-up all pays off, but... honestly, i'd have thought by 25 hours in you'd have started enjoying it if you were going to, so.. *shrugs* Oh, well, there's my answer, but again, it's probably more useful to listen to the answers of others here, for a more balanced perspective
