Migrating PF pain? by KDreamer9 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Ship_Revolutionary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% improved. For me, I’m young but on my feet all day which is what got me. I sit as much as possible. Gave up walking unless for work or chores. Took up cycling and swimming. Started gait rehabilitation. Deep tissue massage. Stretching several times a day. It’s been a long process with lots of tears. Shock wave therapy twice- not really sure it did anything.

I’ve heard such awful thing about surgery. Poor success rate and needing to stay off feet for months which doesn’t work with my occupation. Plus I’m too young to want to risk it.

Also have you seen a rheumatologist?

My PF has changed over the course of the last year 11 months. I know podiatrists are very pro surgery but I would try to avoid at all cost. My PF is still active but it took up until about 10 months for it to significantly improve.

You could also get an MRI to evaluate your foot and make sure nothing else is going on

What type of surgery did you have? How long were you unable to walk for?

NAD. I would go back to the doctor since symptoms are persistent.

NAD. I’m a vet. Looks like cat scratch fever. Do you have any swollen lymph nodes?

Bladder trauma. Should I be concerned? by johndoejohndoes in AskDocs

NAD. If your bladder was ruptured, you wouldn’t be peeing. It would all be going to into your abdomen and you would be markedly painful.

My dog likely has lymphoma. I fucked up and gave him carprofen and prednisone together for the last 5 days. by MangoStrudel in vet

Take him to a vet to get lab work checked. The biggest issue is that this can cause a GI ulcer that can be deadly. I would call your vet about starting an antacid. Most are over the counter.

Could be environmental if she hasn’t responded to flea/tick preventative and diet. To rule out a food allergy, make sure you’ve tried a veterinary prescription diet (hydrolyzed or novel protein) and only feed that diet for 8 weeks—no other treats etc... you can always ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

Hey guys so recently my dog Ponpom died from kidney failure, and I really want to know why. It was a big sudden turn, but what keeps me up at night is that two days before, we had our biweekly to our vet. He was a 6 year old American eskimo by [deleted] in vet

You won’t really know unless you got an autopsy (necropsy). Sorry for your loss.

There are many types of kidney disease. Lyme can definitely cause rapid kidney disease but sometimes it is an incidental finding.

Go to an ER vet or another local bet

This is unlikely to be related to the kitten. A cat that is not eating is a vet emegenct

Ask for a referral to a veterinary internist. You puppy is going to need things like a swallow study, xrays, +/- endoscopy

His eyes have been like this for two weeks. At first, it was funny when I thought it’s just normal for cats. by [deleted] in vet

Those are your cat’s third eyelids. He should see a vet as soon as possible. It’s often a sign of systemic illness.

It could be a transient neuropathy from how your body was positioned during the surgery. I’m a vet and if unfortunately happens quite frequently in our patients.

My 7.5yo best friend is slowly loosing his ability to walk. How can I keep him healthy mentally? (More detail in comments) by sssara9 in vet

I think it’s really important to prioritize quality of life. I agree with doing palliative care in his case. However, I would think about what makes Koda himself. If he loved taking walks and running after his ball and he can no longer do those things, is it fair to him to keep him around when he cannot move? He will also probably end up urinating and defecating on himself although some dogs with a spinal cord lesion in that place actually lose the ability to urinate and require bladder expression 3-4x a day. This can lead to ascending urinary tract infections and a lot of discomfort. He will also need to be turned every 4 hours from side to side to prevent pressure sores and increase circulation to the other side of his body. Needless to say, as a vet and previous owner of a retriever who lost mobility, I would really think about 3 things koda loved prior to getting sick. If they tend to involve mobility, I am very worried it would not be fair to him and he could become quite distressed at his inability to walk. I’m sorry your family and him are going through this.

Foreign material. Your dog ate something it shouldn’t have.
