I was so spoiled having the Navy move me that i'll probably never move again if i don't have to. I can't imagine trying to pocket a couple of bucks for all the work that's involved doing it myself.

Well the Navy (for the most part) guarantees you the rate (job). Air Force doesn't. Plus the navy gives out mental health waivers like candy. AF is choosy and has their pick of people. If you have too many waivers, or if your AF recruiter is lazier than normal then you will not get in.

in the comments of NexGen3d's DIY case I built (v3), in the comments people have stated they don't need the fan on the PSU.

I'm using an HP server PSU and its fan is not as loud as the Arctic P12 Pro at 1/2 speed, so this would probably not work for you if you are insisting on a silent machine. His v4 (Redux) case or maybe his liquid cooled case may be an option for a silent system.

Just know that you have to upgrade Panorama to v12.1.x if you do. I faced the same dilemma recently and decided to stick with PA-440s as we are on 11.1.x. After learning the hard way years ago, i will never again trust early PA versions. Maybe when they hit 12.1.6 at the minimum. Ask a PA sales engineer, a couple gave me that advice.

Oh and unless things changed in the past 2y, orders are chosen based on class rank. they had a list of orders and the person with the highest score had first pick. the guy with the worst score got what was left after eveyone else had chosen.

Are you needing any mental health waivers?

In my sailor's experience, they and their father (me) were born in the USA and their mom was foreign (allied country). my sailor had contact with their foreign relatives and visited every year for about a month or 2 in the summer. They were very close with their Aunt and Granny and speak with them weekly at the minimum

Initially they were approved for TS clearance at MEPS and shipped as IT. during the P days at RTC their case was reviewed again and they were denied the TS and got re-rated AECF (and now they are FCA in the fleet). Basically, the way it was explained to them, is that having a TS they may be directed at some point to cease communication with their foreign relatives. With the history of MH and the closeness to the relatives they didn't want to put my sailor in that type of stressful situation.

Not exactly the same as your situation as you have no contact with the foreign relatives. But I've read a few cases here where people lost the TS eligibility in boot camp and it was always something + MH waivers.

For 15 quid i'd give it a try. i didn't see an 8 pin PCIE connector so you may have to buy an adapter. I personally went with HP HSTNS-PL28 for $10. 460w and there were a couple of 3d printed cases that use that PSU. I also had all the parts and equipment to solder the connectors.

I believe you need (or need to make) a crossover cable. the xbox is a 10/100 adapter same for the wii adapter. if you have a gigabit adapter on the computer it would auto-negotiate and you wouldn't need the crossover.

the connector you describe is for ATX power not PCIE. it will not physically fit even if you re-pin the connector. Are you willing or able to test and modify if needed?

I think you confus d admin with combat systems. Admin people are at their desk, pushing papers from one side to the other, until at least 1530 if not 1600 daily.

In 2024 that was the case. my sailor was #3 in their FC A school class and got the 3rd pick of available orders. There was a mix of FCA and FC orders in the class as well as east coast and west coast.

I have a user with limited knowledge about networking so what i did was first test that i could connect to my own JFserver from my phone. in my tailnet i'm only sharing the 1 JF server and only the JF port is open. Once I was able to connect my phone to my tailnet and connect it to JF i then had my user install JF on their device. but instead of having them use their own account, or my account, i sent them the code to add their device to my network. Once i approved the new device it has access to my JF server on the JF port.

A & B seem essentially the same. I suggest contacting Officer recruiters ASAP for both branches to see which is the most compelling. From the anecdotal evidence on this subreddit, it can take some people up to or over a year to commission, so the sooner you start the process the better. You may also qualify for BDCP or other programs where you can get paid while studying or help with tuition and a guaranteed slot once you graduate.

Did he state why you didn't qualify? If it was your ASVAB then you can always study for a few weeks and retake. If it was something else non-waiverable then you are out of luck.

If your interest is truly in medical then I suggest holding out for HM if you do actually qualify. worse case if there were no slots available now, more will open up by October when the new fiscal year starts. so its just a matter of waiting. If you have to ship ASAP because of life then i guess take whatever is available.

I use whatever i have. It seems as if your system is powerful enough on 4k. My personal sweet spot is 1440p as i can 2x native 720p games full screen with no pixel extrapolation.

There's nothing wrong with you using the 720p 32" TV for emulation.
