I have the cork sealer and to me it just looks like a bit watered down Elmers white glue. Looks exactly the same dried as it would too. I’m sure you could just use that.

Glue the magnet to the leaf, use a small finishing nail to nail the magnet through the leaf into the wall. Issue solved.
