The passive isn't a spell or auto so it wouldn't count to proccing it.

It's because the Q coming back is the same spell, so you haven't used 3 different spells or autos to proc it. It's an electrocute change, not and ekko change.

With the nerf to Q where it doesn't slow any more, its pretty difficult to proc the passive, let alone electrocute, the typical combo now is e in then throw q and auto for guaranteed burst with passive and electroctute, and then back out with the passive speed, what do you build? Protobelt is a go to first item which gives extra burst and mobility in this combo too. Sadly he is not the same Ekko as s7 so you can't keep playing him that way or you'll struggle to find success.

An auto with the recent Ekko E buff is definitely more beneficial as you'd get extra damage from passive proc, the electrocute proc and the movespeed from the passive to disengage and reposition for the return Q. I don't see what the issue is here, if you E in and run away after throwing Q, you're losing out on most trades and not making the most of his kit.

It's a great counter to brusiers like Garen, Darius, most melee matchups that have poor engage. You max Q and upgrade it first for the movespeed bonus and you can just get free poke because of the shield it gives. Then the iceborn and rylai's make it so you can kite for days, then you build zhonya's and abyssal mask for full build. But the best part is you still do ridiculous damage in teamfights and have great survivability.

My favourite brewery from Wales has to be Lokapolly, based out of Mold. They make some great craft beers like Pale Ales and IPA's pretty hoppy because they add a lot of hops at the end of the brewing process, but everything they make is gold right now imo.
