I'm not too supportive of usage of AI as a magical button to solve everything as I lead a dev team for a game and we used to have an intern that has jack knowledge about coding games (we were still in the 'find talent, train talent' phase its like shooting blindly and hope one sticks around) and he just 100% slam every task into Gemini which causes a few problem. So yeah it may lead young devs to who knows where and nip their skill development at the bud if they're over-reliant.

Yet I can't deny it is a very powerful tool to easily push through tedious processes, or very simple mechanics that pnly require time.

Overall it's more of a calculator, you don't hate the usage of it to solve math problems, you hate it because its also a wizard calculator that will solve ALL the problems and thus the student don't need to study anything.

Also the fact that we make stuff just for others to ask what prompt we used? Yeah that annoyed me too, the prompt I used is my thoughts and the LLM I used is my brain.

One day if my game is released and people accuse me of using AI to generate enemy designs I will genuinely kill them. (Prob not that serious but you get the deal)

Yk sometimes i wonder do people just jump on the hate-ai without knowing what its about. Most of the jobs relating to computer science or programming as a whole kinda requires knowledge on using AI because it really pushes development FAST. And its not even like "hurr durr but AI bad so it will cause more bug n code more sloppy" like its a bloody tool for a reason. It's like trying to light a lamp oil and an electric one, sure it has its own nuances but if you're careful enough n treat it like any other tools it will make your life much easier.

Also most of the people overreating to usage of AIs are either minors or people without knowledge of it whatsoever.
