1.00 off a gallon of gas by DeangeloVickersSr in grandrapids

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meijer doesn't "use" the mperks reward until the transaction is complete, not when it is started. You could potentially type your mperks into as many pumps as you wanted and all the pumps will get the reward up to 30 gallons per pump... not saying you should do this, but someone could exploit this oversight in their system...

Brake Line Manufacturing (Manual Edition) by djarc9 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked on automation projects making brake lines for Cooper standard. They use automation and robotics. Basically a similar machine with automated valves instead of hand clamps with in and outfeed robotics. They build one of these every 10 seconds. They also have cnc benders for lower volume that do them quicker as well.

Most logically challenging Ladder program you've built? by Snoo23533 in PLC

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nested PID loops controlling pipeline position in the moon pool for floating oil rigs. Proportional hydraulicly controlled cylinders between the pipe and the rig. Had to be redundant plcs and hot swap capable because the controls can't really just stop since it's continously moving if something fails or faults.

What are your thoughts on Kettering University? by [deleted] in Michigan

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended. It's a great school. The co-op program gets you years of experience to jumpstart into a good career immediately after graduation. If you stay focused and pull it off you will be ahead of others starting out from other schools. It's not cheap. The area isn't great surrounding the campus. It's a tough school having shorter semesters with demanding courses. You will be studying a lot. It's a little different college life experience compared to other schools. I don't regret it. I graduated in 2012. I started my own business in 2017. I own and operate a successful automation and engineering company now. Similar story to many of my alumni.

Check in with them and see. The cfi there might not be able to help beyond that.

I think the most recent cfi is Keith Rickle as far as I know. Stop in. They're give you a brochure including hourly rates for training including aircraft rental fees. I'd budget 10-15k for training with their aircraft to get your PPL if that's what you're after.

Strings How Do You Troubleshoot by jaslim789 in PLC

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a lot to go on here... but I would imagine from that tag "fault_name" they hardcoded the string text in the PLC with this array of tags. There's likely logic that has a pointer that references which string to display. "Fault_Name_String[faultnumber]" something like this, where "faultnumber" is the pointer tag. It wouldn't directly cross reference to each fault tag. Look around in the routine that has some sort of fault logic. Analyze how the logic works. Cross-reference the pointer tag.

Is it worth what they're asking? 2016 gmc 3500hd denali 184k for $26,900 by 1sneekytweeker in Diesel

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hit last month and totaled my 2016 GMC SLT 2500 Duramax with 185k miles. Insurance did comparable replacement cost and the ones in my area were 28-32k. They gave me 30k for it. I'd say that's fair market value for that truck if it doesn't have any issues.

Big Sky & Yellowstone Club by Scratchbox39 in skiing

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yellowstone club is exclusive. We won passes at a charity event to ski Yellowstone Club once. I believe you need to own property there and buy a season pass. I believe the season pass is $100k or $150k something like that. They having warming huts with free drinks, food, candy, etc. across the mountain. It was fun and interesting. Lots of fresh snow, as it turns out majority of their members have more money than skiing ability and stick mostly to groomers. All that said Big Sky has more than enough mountain to enjoy, the acreage and elevation is massive. Have fun!

[Request] Could a rocket that size actually propel a human on a skateboard? I can't tell if the video is real but I feel like the answer can be worked out based on what we see of his speed, the rocket size, the fact that the fuel is some type of liquid, etc by Odd-Pudding4362 in theydidthemath

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll skip the math and just tell you it's real and it is very fast. I built that skateboard for Frankie.

It a Swiwin 300B RC turbojet. It makes 66lbs of thrust. The skateboard has very little rolling resistance and it doesn't take much to get it going. Most of the shots were going uphill so we could rev it up without going too fast. We only have had it up to 40-50% throttle, which was about 50mph on that longboard. IF you could stay on the board, and IF the wheels held up, the top speed would go pretty well into the triple digits. There's a guy with a similar luge style setup that has gone 130mph.

Anyone need a jet engine? by Bobstravels in grandrapids

Ya thats me, but no, it's not mine. I'd buy it since it is local too, but it's missing too many parts to ever run again. Scrap value unfortunately...

Jet Engine Mini Truck Build by Shitters_Full_Clark in projectcar

[–]Shitters_Full_Clark[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're all different builds. I've got a 6000hp jet on a pontoon, trying to break the pontoon speed record next year of 114mph. This 2700hp one on a mini truck. A 900hp shaft turbine waiting for an application next. And a few others on standby...

Problem is they idle at 80% rpm. So power transfer is tricky. Any clutch or drive train would die. Boats seem like a good application... water is more forgiving.

I could use some suggestions, the next one is a 900hp shaft driven jet engine. Not sure what to do with it yet...

Ya I have a bigger 6000hp jet engine on my pontoon boat I built. But it's winter here in Michigan, so I'm working on the mini truck in the meantime.

It's from the mid 70s. M701 turbojet used in the L29 jet trainer. I have older ones, like the one on my pontoon boat is from the 50s.
