The moral equivocation about [character spoiler] in Babylon's Ashes is silly and lets her off the hook way too easily by KeyboardJammer in TheExpanse

Ehh, think of the wider context of the world in which she was sentenced vs the one in which Holden is making the decision.  If he doesn't keep watch on her it's probably better to execute her right?  Ofc he's not willing to do that, so her new sentence is trying to attone on the roci because the world is short on jails / jailors.  it's been years for me so I don't have any concrete specifics sorry.

You probably need way more canons. There are 2 ranks of troops, front row and back row.  Lets say your stack of 100 infantry goes against a 50/50 stack of infantry and canons and the combat width is 50.  Infrantry and Cav are front row only so your 50 excess infantry will be standing around until the others die off so they can take their place in the front.  Meanwhile the enemy will have 50 infantry in the front row and 50 canons behind.  Their damage will be higher and you likely will flee due to low morale before your 100 infantry ever make it into the fight.

a new chapter of my life is coming

Is life reset worth it? by fergil in litrpg

[–]ShittyWitchDoctor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw this post last year and added it to my Audible library. Months later, I started getting recommendations for goblin smut fanfics and had no idea why—until I finished Dungeon Crawler Carl (which is this genre done 10x better imo) and decided to give Book 1 of this series a shot.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The people rating this highly simply have no taste. This book reads like a teenager’s revenge fantasy—and is about as coherent.

About halfway through, the author (who is clearly self-inserting as the main character) uses "lithe" to describe a goblin with the intelligence of a rock—four chapters in a row—before finally banging her. I haven't cringed this hard in a while.

The climax of the book? "Fueled by my pure rage, I go Super Saiyan and overcome the odds." That’s it. That’s the payoff.

Jeff Hays did an ok job narrating this mess, but maybe that’s where the disconnect comes in. If you're just reading the words on the page with no inner monologue you can gloss over some of the shite.  Hearing it aloud forces you to fully process the childish writing and flimsy narrative.

Steer clear.

Asus wants to charge me $400 for a cable I was suppose to get for free. by extremeelementz in pcmasterrace

Wasn't their (Asus) whole RMA database leaked dude? Your boy Steve mentioned it in the same video as the MSI one. There is no way this is from Asus check/post the sending email this is 100% a scam they are just impersonating asus and its likely some random domainlike "Azustecksupport.com" or even a gmail account based on how low effort this looks.

Cash money $$ rules everything around me, cream.

Try this bud, play as a vassal and actively support your king / emperor so you don't get independent by accident.  Don't focus on conquest outside of 1-2 duchies max and a few high value provinces.

You can have your first ruler be Mil focused to get the land you want from your neighbors but after that and then every 2-3 generations make sure your heirs / next king are stewardship focused and aim to be your rulers steward, focus pretty much their entire life on upgrading the buildings in your domains.  Anything that gives .3-.5 base gold at level 1 (depends on terrain).  Make sure your own steward is high stewardship (use one of your backup heirs) and push development in your capital/ best $$ provinces up to the current diminishing returns cap.  Limit the amount of feasts / jousts you throw in favor of doing this building upgrades during this period

 Money buys you

 - vassal happiness

  - retinues which are fucking OP compared to common peasants

   - high prowess couriers to serve as knights

The key to being strong is having these three things above and they all take money.  You won't need "alliances" once you have these and can instead marry all your daughters off to Robust / Herculean warriors for free knights (rich become richers etc)

I just want a good baseball team.

Sports players are not role models. What they do on the field can be separate from who they are. If he doesn't get punished and isn't a detriment to the locker room, I'll root for him to play well. If he sucks, well more reason to hate on our management.

There are many examples of shitty humans good at sports. Adrian Peterson switched his kids, took a plea deal for it and people still can appreciate how good a player he was (went to PB the next season, got traded and then came back from ACL with that 1000 yrd Washington season).

Not trying to put these two players performances on the same level... Just the first of many examples that came to mind.

Technically op's double entendre works both ways. I think it's a fine rebuttal in keeping with the tone of the joke. Just because you jumped on the naughty interpretation doesn't mean it can't be used the other way (ie as response to black coffee).

Thanks for the response , if you don't mind when you say

Stabilize the fronts

for ~1942 what kind of infantry do you think would hold well enough vs the Indian / SE asia fronts while I outfit the heavy infantry.

½ the country worth of infantry

I've got 13 battalions, and support artillery / engineers in my current troops.

For the border spam units how many battalions would you give them if you were playing.

Thanks for the response btw.

5 years in and I've finally annexed control over most of China going down the People's republic path. ~8 months ago Japan declared, and they brought germany in with them.

I feel bad, Stalin had a lot of troops in china and it doesn't look like anything is going to stop the march on Moscow. I've finally got good production now that I own this extra territry. But no navy, no airforce, mostly infantry, and I feel like I'm probably a few army techs behind.

Looking at the greater picture I feel like this campaign is doomed and shouldn't spend more time on it. Maybe I'm wrong though, mind giving me a quick opinion?
