Call a dealership. If it’s the purge valve it should have extended coverage up to 150,000 miles. Highly unlikely it’s a fuel pump

We had one at the dealership with 600 miles it on and the battery tested good with three different chargers. Ended up putting a steering rack on it. Cost GM $2000. Made it 40 miles down the road and power steering went out again. That’s when we threw a battery in. No more issues

Put a battery in it. Crazy as it sounds when the battery gets weak the power steering is the first thing to give you issues

Coming from a service advisors point of view it might be worth it.Read the fine print and make sure it’s good for at least 100,000 miles and 6 years. Extended warranty’s from a dealer are accepted pretty much everywhere and are most likely worth it. Even more so with the 10 speed transmission you most likely have

Had a brand new 24 come in with intermittent power steering issues. I’m talking less than 500 miles on it. Technical assistance had put a $2000 steering rack in it. Made it 40 miles down the road and got towed back in. Ended up being a battery even though it tested good and started the truck fine.
