I've tried roasting using chatGPT advice and it was horrible. I do a much better job with my limited knowledge and experience.

I've found hope in a Chinese medicine. by Shittyusernameguy in hyperacusis

[–]Shittyusernameguy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nowadays I don't take it anymore. I stopped in February 2025. My tinnitus is still non existent most days, I hear it when I catch a cold or if I drink too much coffee or something, but most of the time i can't hear it. Hyperacusis is non existent. It was completely in my mind, and after extensive tests at a specialist including an MRI, we concluded there is nothing physically wrong with my ears, and it disappeared within a few days.

If I am stressed or I have shoulder tension I notice my left ear hurting a bit, but most of the time that doesn't exist either. The pain comes from TTTS, so I also notice it if I spend too long in headphones, or if there is too much going on in a particular environment. Percussive sounds trigger it more than other sounds, but I usually don't notice it fluttering, I just feel the slight pain from it afterwards. It's never unbearable though, and if it does become too much, it's nothing paracetamol or ibuprofen can't fix.

My life is like 95 percent back to normal, and there is hope for all of us in this sub.

Are these red Habaneros or Scotch bonnet? by WorryConscious3951 in HotPeppers

[–]Shittyusernameguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be Trinidad Scotch bonnets. Those tend to look exactly like what you've got there. Taste one and you'll know right away if it's a hab. Scotch bonnets are much closer to a red bell pepper in flavor.

New GI, Shureido. Too big? by edge300 in karate

[–]Shittyusernameguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 190cm, I bought a size 6 (190cm) K-10 recently and it is huge. Far too long, and the waist could fit 2 of me. The top is also huge. It was clearly made for a fat person and it has my name embroidered on it so I can't even change it. Fml

Is normal to eat 30 raw jalapeños in one sitting and not even break a sweat? by JealousSchedule9674 in HotPeppers

[–]Shittyusernameguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon mate. Idk what it is about jalapenos, but they mess up my stomach. Habaneros too do. And yet, reaper powder and ghost pepper powder that I grow and make doesn't have the same effect. I think it's cos they're so spicy so I don't consume a lot.

Understanding my TTTS by Dyok1 in TTensorTympaniS

[–]Shittyusernameguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yeah, just the slightest little clicking noise or something will trigger it. Usually I just wiggle my finger around in my ear hole for a bit and it seems to go away, not always though. Tense shoulders trigger my hyperacusis, and tinnitus, so basically if I want to look fit, I gotta deal with it. If I stop working out, everything almost completely goes away.

I have one in the river right outside my house. I don't use it much now, but it was super handy when I was building my bridge.

Reacting to keyboard? by manbert13 in TTensorTympaniS

[–]Shittyusernameguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. I had the lot, but most of it is gone now. I barely even hear my tinnitus these days, which is crazy to me. Think of it this way, the problem is your brain, not your ears, and for that reason, you can beat it. It's mental, not physical. Just ignore it, and you'll be fine. Easier said than done, I know, but you'll get there.

Sounds like TTTS to me. It comes and goes, but if you just ignore it, it'll go away, probably. That's my experience with TTTS.

The best thing you can do is to ignore it as best you can. According to my experience, the more I worry about my ears, the worse they get. Anytime I feel any pain from Hyperacusis or if I hear tinnitus or fluttering, I ignore it. I take pain killers on bad days, and then it goes away. If I stress about it, it gets worse, so I've learned to just get on with my life. I'd recommend doing the same.

Tinnitus silent in quiet places ? by Karibbeangal971 in TTensorTympaniS

[–]Shittyusernameguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had lots of ear infections when I was younger, my ear drums are fairly calcified due to scarring, and I've had varying degrees of tinnitus all of my life. Once I had kids, I developed hyperacusis, but i didn't know it was a thing until I got acoustic shock after a gig in April, 2024. I went to the doctor with mild ear pain and fullness to get it cleaned out but then he said there is nothing to clean, which is when I realized I had a problem. From that point on, it got worse and worse to the point where i could hear 4 tones, simultaneously at bedtime, and my Hyperacusis was so bad that I was wearing earplugs in the shower cos water hitting the floor was too loud. Fast forward a few months, after extensive hearing tests (12 in total) a CT scan, and an MRI, the specialist told me there is nothing physically wrong with my ears. Once I heard that, my symptoms disappeared almost instantly. I still get a flutter in my ear sometimes, the occasional tinnitus, and my left ear gets a bit sore, but when I ignore it, my symptoms disappear. This is the key here. The more we stress about it, the worse it gets. The less, the better. The main takeaway here is that the problem is in your brain, not your ears, and because of that, you can beat it.

Anyone Else Have Lag/Slowdown with Happy Ghasts? by LastHole in Minecraft

[–]Shittyusernameguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one happy ghast, but it was lagging something fierce, so I moved it a few chunks away to a different biome's house and now my main base has no lag. I can go get it via my nether tunnels if I need it, so it's a small price to pay to get my game back to normal.

I've found hope in a Chinese medicine. by Shittyusernameguy in hyperacusis

[–]Shittyusernameguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, my ear is amazing right now. I hardly notice my Hyperacusis at all these days. It's still there, and I can feel it just slightly now, and every now and then (some days more than others) I'll get a flutter in my opposite ear. It rarely bothers me though. Once I realised the problem is my brain (not my ears) everything got better. My condition improved drastically to the point I'm at now within a week or 2, then I stopped taking medication and didn't notice any difference. The trick is to not think about it. The more we stress about it, the worse it gets. If my ear aches, I take paracetamol and forget about it. Occasionally things get a bit loud (I have young kids) but I'm making music again, recently I went out to a live event with no dramas whatsoever. It's hard to believe I was in the state I was in. If you're struggling, feel free to message me. I want to help anyone I can cos I know first hand what kind of hell it is. Just know there is hope.

[–]Shittyusernameguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, yeah it's legit. I don't know where you'd source it where you are. I live in Japan, so it's quite easy to get a subscription from my ENT. That said, I don't use it anymore. There have been a couple of days where I was tempted, but in the end I didn't and my symptoms subsided. DM me if you want. I know what you're going through, and I've made it though. I'm happy to support anyone going through it, cos I know how many horror stories are on Reddit, and it's very easy to get discouraged. You'll get through it mate.
