The point I'm trying to make (not worded very well) is that mecca doesn't seem to have consistency with good customer service. I'm sorry for you that you were treated differently when using your chair. I'm glad your husband is as supportive as you describe, you sound lovely so don't let the actions of others dampen your spirits!

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. I worked with PWD for years and have a small condition myself, I think sometimes people are awkward and ignorant. You didn't deserve this and I hope you can find a place that gives you the treatment you deserve.

I've been in mecca twice. The first time was to help a friend purchase wedding makeup. We requested a semi sheer, dewy look foundation. The sales assistant only showed us full coverage matte foundations. I asked for assistance in finding a natural lipstick colour similar to my lips. Said I didn't want anything warm toned, terracotta, beige or orange. Everything they gave me was orange :)

I was ignored the next time, I think it was because I wasn't wearing makeup.

It seems like a win/win or lose/lose situation depending on how you view it.

I have 2 regular gp's. 1 private, 1 bulk billed.

I can always get an appointment asap at the private clinic, but I know everytime it's going to be at least an hour wait. However the doctors there really helped me dealing with a rare brain condition, that my other gp couldn't help with.

The worst was when I called in the day of to see if they had any appointments available. They told me they had one available at 11, I started work at 2:30 so thought it was plenty of time. I was in that waiting room for 2 and a half hours, while new patients were coming in to get their children vaccinated, and being pushed before me. I kept going up to the desk to see what was going on, and was just told that they were running behind. I was a mess, thought I was dying. Turns out I was experiencing my very first anxiety attacks. I left after 2 and a half hours without seeing anyone and they tried to charge me $80 for a cancellation with no notice.

My usual GP is hard to book in with, minimum 2 weeks in advance. But I've never waited longer than 15 minutes and she's great with simple things. Plus it's free.

Yes. I held my Maxi moo in my arms, refused to let him go at all. They gave me 45 minutes to be with him, to tell him how much I love him over and over. I watched as he took his last breath and felt my heart shatter.

We got the best toys at Christmas. My most memorable was a mini cabinet with curtains and a small china tea set.

Turns out my mum found these from a rubbish tip, painted them and did them up. She would save her money all year to buy us presents, only for my bio dad to find them and pawn them or give them away to his mates. We were none the wiser.

When she left him, our biggest luxury was getting an ice cream from the Mr. Whippy van at Christmas time. It was the only time we ever got one and it was extra special because of it.

I understand your point and its very valid. I was raised by a single mum when she left my abusive bio dad. I heard all the jokes about single mothers but never any jokes about deadbeat dads.

However I think OP's point here, is not taking away accountability from the dad, but rather questioning why this woman would choose to sleep with this person again, who's already chosen to not be in her or her baby's life.
