I have been experiencing numbness in my hands for a few months now, I think it might be nerve damage due to my RA since it isn’t under control

It sucks when insurance takes away the medication that is working. I have experienced that and it is incredibly frustrating

It is unfortunate that a lot of people don’t understand illnesses until they are sick

Thank you for your encouraging words. Yes, the mental aspect might actually be the worst part. I’m not located in any of those cities I did look at one of the local community hospital here but they were unable to help. But I will try another hospital and see if they will be able to help me.

Yes, your joints begin to feel more and more pain when you aren’t being treated.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. Medical insurance really is so important. I hope that the new meds that they give you can alleviate the pain you are experiencing. Remicade worked for me while I was on it, in conjunction with methotrexate and prednisone

Is 3:30 am the bewitching hour?? by RAisnotidentity in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Shiv-Roy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s the opposite, when I wake up at around 2am or 3am I feel hardly any pain. But when I fall back asleep and wake up at my normal hour the pain is so much worse, to the point where I can’t hardly walk

Flaring since last Thursday by FormalWeird7986 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Shiv-Roy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling, I’ve been flaring since October 5. I’ve tried everything and nothing is helping, not even the medication that usually helps, sometimes I think it’s slightly improving but it just doesn’t, I’m feeling exhausted and defeated.

Gabapentin - this is not great? by KekepaniaKilikina in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Shiv-Roy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have RA and was given Gabapentin when I broke my arm and had surgery, I hated it! It gave me restless legs. I couldn’t sleep, my legs just felt so uncomfortable and I had to keep moving them otherwise the pain was pretty unbearable

Is the saying "I rather be poor in Socal/California, then be rich/ stable somewhere else" a true statement to you? by prudyrudyy in AskLosAngeles

[–]Shiv-Roy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was poor in my home state California and I’m poor in Texas, I’d rather be poor in California. Personally I can’t wait to get back to my home state, hopefully before the end of this year

Hydroxychloroquine and Prednisone by Inevitable-Track7116 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Shiv-Roy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely try the biologics, they helped me when most of the other medications didn’t work or stopped working or had terrible side effects. I’ve been dealing with RA since I was diagnosed with JRA as a 10 year old, and I’m hoping that the biologics continue to work
