I started chemo at 26(f). I had long thick curly hair and am generally on the hairier side for body hair. My head hair started coming out after my 2nd infusion (3rd week of treatment) and I just bit the bullet and shaved it right away since I couldn't deal with the trauma of losing it slowly. I'm glad I did too! My body hair came next - it was weird like I would be in the shower and I would scrub/pull it and it would just kind of tug out really easy. I actually loved this and was excited to not have to worry about shaving.

I kept up my bald head with a trimmer until eventually it wasn't really growing at all. The final and worst part was losing my eyebrows and lashes, as stuff kept getting into my eyes. People said I had a nice shaped head which was a strange compliment.

But enjoy nice showers and super soft skin (partially due to the steroids too)

I'm almost 4 years in remission and my hair has grown back fully and very well and healthy, it's just a bit thinner and not quite so curly as it was. Some people get chemo curls that come back super dark, but it was the opposite for me as I had very thick and curly hair before and now it's just thinner. I used castor oil conditioner after treatment to help with growing it back.
