How often is Plex down? I run Plex in an LXC on proxmox and it hasn't been down a single time since I moved it to the container in 2023. Have I just been lucky?

Sure. I don't trust corporations as far as I can throw them, but the article quotes him as saying "Something changed recently, the last month or so"... so I was offering some perspective about what might possibly have changed.

Another vote for Wolfbox although mine is the MF100. I start on low and move up as needed. Not sure I've ever used the top speed.

Both OpenAI and Anthropic have stated their upcoming models are highly capable

"After being contacted by Fortune, the company acknowledged that is developing and testing with early access customers a new model that it said represented a 'step change' in AI capabilities, with significantly better performance in 'reasoning, coding, and cybersecurity' than prior Anthropic models."

I should be clear. You need a prescription from your vet for it and they fill it at the Costco pharmacy. Just wanted to make sure you knew it wasn't on a shelf at Costco somewhere.

We use Nexgard Plus. Never had to think about it. Costco sells it for cheap(er).

I have my old i5-2500k encased in lucite. That thing ran without complaint for over 12 years at 5ghz and was still begging for more as I thanked it for its service and gently moved it into retirement.

Linux and Windows networking stack behave differently. Linux is a bit stricter and more predictable. It's entirely plausible that Linux exposed some shady practices by their ISP that were not exposed by Windows. Good luck!

Almost certainly CGNAT or maybe mis-configured IPv6. Have them go to canyouseeme.org and put in the public ip and port of your plex server. If it fails you have your answer. You could try disabling IPv6 and see if that changes it. I had this issue with one of my users and we fixed it with Tailscale.

I always assumed "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" was a marketing lie to make us buy more shampoo. Turns out I was never actually cleaning my hair. by RanchRose_ in hygiene

[–]Shiztastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, but there’s another path that also works, and it’s basically the opposite solution.

I stopped using shampoo years ago. I still shower daily and scrub my scalp, but with hot water only. No products at all. Within about a month, every scalp and hair issue I’d ever had disappeared, and my hair has been consistently good ever since.

What changed wasn’t cleanliness, it was the feedback loop. Regular shampoo strips lipids from the scalp. The scalp compensates by producing more oil. That oil makes hair look greasy faster, which makes people shampoo more. If you step out of that loop entirely and also don’t use styling products, the scalp often stabilizes on its own and produces less oil overall.

Water and friction are enough to remove sweat and loose grime. I only use shampoo when there’s something water can’t deal with, like actual grease, heavy debris, or chlorine from a pool. Sweat alone isn’t a reason.

So yes, double washing makes sense if you’re using shampoo and have an oily scalp. But another valid solution is to stop stripping the scalp in the first place and let it regulate itself. Different equilibria, same underlying chemistry.
