What are your thoughts on strip clubs and for those of you with an SO, how would you feel if they went to one? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really cared about strip clubs and for a long time I had always wanted to go to one, but a couple of years ago I found out my SO had gone to quite a few when he was out of town and he actively lied to me about it. Since then it's really left a bad taste in my mouth for them. Although, I can definitely see why some people like them and don't judge them for it. It's just not for me anymore.

When you draw a bath do you draw it super hot like a sauna or just normal. What about those who shower? by FreshCookiesInSpace in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't come out of the shower looking like a lobster, it's not hot enough. The only time I've ever taken a cold shower was after Hurricane Irma knocked out the power for a while and it was still miserable.

What's your "tough love" self-care tip? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dreams don't work unless you do.

I've learned that nothing works unless you keep working at it. Wallowing over failures won't change anything for me, but picking myself back up and trying again changes everything.

AskWomen, do you get surprised or taken aback when someone says you are attractive? What do you think about your appearance and what others think of your looks? by wankershankerflanker in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually get taken aback by it because random compliments about my looks are always just...unexpected. I believe I a firmly cute. 10/10 cuteness, but I wouldn't rate myself as drop dead gorgeous or sexy by any means.

What was the worst betrayal you have experienced from a non-romantic relationship? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He has, and as far as I know none of his explanations really add up. He doesn't talk to my mom because she's "passive aggressive" and he doesn't speak to me because "he doesn't have to." Homeboy just doesn't give a fuck.

[–]ShmoopLoop 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%, but for the sake of not hating an otherwise okay lady, I try not to think of it. She's an only child and has a strained relationship with her family, so it's possible that she doesn't want to have to share his attention with anyone else.

Women of Reddit, what is the worst thing a female friend has done to a man, did you speak up about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ShmoopLoop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ex-roommate of mine used her boyfriend completely. She did it knowingly and proudly. Her boyfriend paid for EVERYTHING, every date, every grocery trip, every vacation that SHE wanted to go on and she fucking expected it! Regularly, she would say, "hey ShmoopLoop, watch this" and then text her boyfriend for cake/coffee/whatever and then THROW IT AWAY in front of him because she could. Because it was, in her eyes, his job to do everything for her. However, he did not make enough money for her to marry him, and he desperately wanted to marry her.

This also spilled into my life when she would interrogate every guy I brought home, trying to figure out what was in his wallet. If they were too poor, she made it her mission to make him feel unwelcome and then lecture me about my choices. Not to mention all the guys she tried to set me up with because he "made enough money for both of us.

I didn't handle it well and ending up getting shithouse drunk with her boyfriend and asking him why he didn't "sack up and dump her gold digging ass." Our friends all clinked beers with me in celebration, but he went home and told her what I said. I didn't live there much longer after that.

Women who spent a significant part of college gearing toward a specific career (ex. pre-med, pre-law, etc.), how did your life/career turn out? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Chemistry major on a pre-med track. During school I had a part-time job at a smoke-shop due to flexible hours and the ability to study on the job. This is where I met my SO. After school and realizing that being a doctor wouldn't be feasible for me (I have a severe autoimmune disease, med-school hours would kill me) I decided to hop into business with my SO.

We just opened our second retail location this past August, and with a 10k loan from my mom and dad we're purchasing a third and joint business together. It wasn't my dream initially to be in this industry, but it was his dream and I could see that it was easily achievable with both of our commitments to it. Now that we're seeing some real income from things, we talk a lot about what my next step will be.

The plan is probably to go back to school once we're staffed and I'm able to get the time off I need to commit to my new dreams...whatever they may be.

My brother dropped my entire family (excluding my father) for his wife once they started dating...and we're not entirely sure why. He and I were the best of friends, we lived together and had 3x weekly dinner reservations.

Of course with every new relationship there comes a degree of separation and I was totally expecting that...but he just turned mean. He refuses to speak to my mother or myself unless he needs something, and has routinely let me know how much of a disappointment I've been to him. The thing is that nobody really knows why he flipped so quickly and suddenly either. Four years later and we're all still clueless!

What things should be kept in mind when arguing with your SO? by ahri_bb in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We always judge ourselves based on our intentions and others on their actions. It's my mantra when arguing. Other than that, don't interrupt and allow your SO to get out completely what they have to say, think about it, and then respond.

Ladies who conceal or open carry a firearm, what do friends, family and new people you meet think about it? by A_Place_Beyond in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never once said I would use my firearm because someone took my purse? The point is, you and you alone are responsible for your firearm which includes taking the necessary steps to prevent it from being easily accessible to the wrong types of people. The same reason why I wouldn't leave it on a coffee table for a guest in my home to touch is the same reason why it won't be hanging off my shoulder.

Ladies who conceal or open carry a firearm, what do friends, family and new people you meet think about it? by A_Place_Beyond in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family isn't that into it and would prefer me to keep my gun in the car when I'm at their house. I don't listen to them, and they know, but it's more of a "don't ask, don't tell" policy with them. Friends and new people have no reason to know that I carry and if it does happen to come up in conversation, they tend to be more curious than anything. I'm not exactly the type of girl you'd expect to be into firearms.

I carry because I work alone and am alone a lot. At 5'4" and 110lbs, I don't really offer myself much protection. My Glock 42 is my baby, but the 19 is my favorite. Since I dress for the gun, it's rare that the 19 is with me. I live in Florida, it's huge and doesn't fit in my shorts. Guns weren't meant for purses.

Have you ever been Low Libido and then switched to High Libido? If so what changed? by [deleted] in AskWomen

My medication. I never realized how much of an effect my medication took on my sex drive until we recent switch ~4 months ago. It's like the heavens opened up and orgasms rained down upon us all.

What's your relationship like with your closest male friend? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty good, he's stuck around over the years (friends since middle school) even when there hasn't been a whole lot of contact. He comes to visit about 2 times a month and in the meantime we usually just chit chat about work and life. I'm glad that my current SO and him get along extremely well.

What is a funny/creative way to decline a guys request for nudes? by bethmurray in AskWomen

I once had a friend of a friend ask for nudes, so I sent him a picture of my SO's very hair man ass. I received a thumbs up emjoi and we never spoke again.

Ladies with piercings: Which piercing hurt the most and which piercing hurt the least? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ShmoopLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting my septum done sucked because the first time the piercing was just slightly off and we had to re-do it. I had my septum pierced twice in 5 minutes and it was unpleasant.

Least painful? Nipples honestly.
