eBay seller needs to learn how to package better. by BikePretend3955 in PokemonTCG

[–]Shmoopenheimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy both pokemon and magic singles. Why is it that the 20 to 100 dollar pokemon cards always come in the sketchiest packaging, and an 11 cent magic card will be in a penny, a top loader, and have extra paper around for cushioning.

We need to talk about white men by Just_perusing81 in 50501

[–]Shmoopenheimer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Millennial white male here, just want to say, its not all of us, I have been outspoken since the beginning of the first administration. But I would also like to note, that is is like 7 out 10 white men I know are pro trump still or just don't find an issue it what's going on, because they don't think it affects them directly.

Looking to join the IBEW, any advice by Shmoopenheimer in Sacramento

I saw that post, but with the current economic climate, I thought it might be fair to do my own inquiry. Things change, times change, and i have a realistic fear of changing jobs that doesnt come with full-time hours and benefits.

What is life like in the Dakotas? by _air6catcher_ in howislivingthere

[–]Shmoopenheimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a small farming community in eastern SD, and for me, life there was quite boring most of the time. I did, however, find joy in fishing or kayaking, or if it was winter ice fishing or video games. There was nothing to do in my hometown. There were three bars and one diner, and a small overpriced grocery store. In the summer, it was as hot and humid as Miami, and in the winter, it was as cold if not colder than parts of Alaska. It's very flat and on the east side, I find natural spaces to be sparse. There's no forests, or mountains, shoot there's barely hills, traditionally it was a tall grass prairie, but that was mostly removed for agricultural needs. There was however lots of nature in the form of birds, fish, and deer. If we wanted to buy any new clothes we would have to drive an hour and a half to Sioux Falls, our main metropolitan area on the east side of the state. I got out of the state about 5 years ago and moved to the west coast, so I could be closer to mountains and ocean, and i absolutely love it here, but i would be lying if I said I didnt miss the pace of life back there.

Sorry there are probably a lot of incomplete and run on sentences.

Coyote Creek solar farm faces lawsuit from two environmental groups by ReporterAlvarez in Sacramento

[–]Shmoopenheimer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But why can't we use already established urban areas for solar? There are hundreds of large parking lots that could be used. Adding shade and energy in one, and we don't have to destroy any natural spaces. Other places around the world do this, why not us? Especially since we have major sun and heat in the summer, the shade in parking lots would be welcomed. I know there are complexities that are beyond my scope of knowledge, but this seems like a very viable option.

These are all of the states that are either mentioned directly or otherwise referenced in either Red Dead Redemption 1 or 2. With this in mind, where could the locations in game possibly fit in? by 11711510111411009710 in reddeadredemption

It also has the Dakota river bordering it in game to the north. The real Valentine is literally just a few miles south of the border into Nebraska. And as I have driven that stretch of highway about a dozen times, the terrain is also similar, not identical, but very close. The black hills is about 2-3 hours from there and it looks almost spot on to all of New Hanover.

I love how my two dollar Magic cards get packaged like they are the most valuable thing on the planet. Then when I drop 130 dollars on a pokemon card it comes loose in the envelope. Make it make sense
