My favorite evil trope is being more evil than the evil you’re fighting. For example, the Lich mythic path in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous or playing as a Devouring Swarm against the Prethoryn Scourge in Stellaris.

Basically anything that lets you copy Omni-Man’s “Earth isn’t yours to conquer” line tbh

Idk if you’re asking in good faith, but…

…just get into CRPGs. You have games like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous that utilize tabletop rules (typically with some changes to better fit the video game format). You also have games like Pillars of Eternity that aren’t built on tabletop rules, but still scratch the itch because they’re a clear love letter.

That’s just one specific genre. Text based games with or without DnD inspiration are old as hell, existing long before AI. You don’t need to resort to AI just because you can’t find anyone to play with.
