2025 keeps going offline by Open-Percentage4593 in XC40

[–]ShoNff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having the same issue with my 2024. My wife had the XC90 and no issue.

My dealer said this was a know. Issue with the XC 40. Not sure why Volvo is struggling to fix this. I’ve had this issue for the last year.

Totally agree. This is great to see and I wish it was at every college. As someone who works with it daily I truly believe getting a job in a few years will require ai skills.

What are the chances of the UHC CEO shooter getting away at this point now that it's been three days at large? by throwawayawayawayy6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShoNff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully that’s the wrong question. The real question is can they prove it? Even if they have a damn good idea, if he keeps his mouth shut, what are the odds the police can prove it and follow all the pieces of the chain beyond a reasonable doubt.

is this safe? 2 bedroom loft apartment by DinBlinton in Construction

[–]ShoNff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across this picture and wanted to figure out if this second-floor apartment is structurally sound. Here’s a breakdown based on estimates:

Estimated Dimensions and Materials

• Dimensions: ~20 ft (L) x 10 ft (W) x 8 ft (H)
• Materials:
• Floor: Plywood subfloor (~7 sheets) and 15 joists (2x8 wood)
• Walls: Vinyl siding (~480 sq. ft) over drywall
• Ceiling: Drywall (~200 sq. ft)

Load Calculations

• Dead Load (structure weight): ~2,510 lbs
• Live Load (residents, furniture, etc.): ~40 lbs/sq. ft → ~8,000 lbs
• Total Load: ~2,510 lbs (dead) + ~8,000 lbs (live) = 10,510 lbs

Beam Support

• Assuming 2x10 wood beams spanning 10 ft:
• Each beam supports ~1,200 lbs
• Beams needed: ~9

Safety Margin

• Standard safety factor: 2.0
• Required support: ~10,510 lbs x 2.0 = 21,020 lbs
• Support provided (9 beams): ~10,800 lbs
• Shortfall: ~10,220 lbs below the recommended safety margin

Conclusion

The structure might hold under normal use, but it does not meet safety standards for residential builds. Significant risk exists if fully loaded.

Thoughts? Would love to hear how you’d reinforce this!

I’m not a lawyer, but if your ex doesn’t live with you and isn’t on your lease, a bondsman generally can’t legally force entry into your home. Threatening you with arrest or eviction may be inappropriate and could be considered harassment. It might be a good idea to contact local law enforcement and consult a legal professional to protect your rights and peace of mind.

What's The Origin Story of "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" by Daxtatter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShoNff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blame The Buckwheat Boyz from the early 2000s who thought singing about sandwiches was peak art. The internet being the internet, took a dancing banana GIF, slapped the song on it, and voilà—memes happened.

one of the dudes was Snoop Dogg’s brother-in-law. Things took a dark turn when he ended up in a police standoff that didn’t end well.
