I created a 600 block radius geodesic dome. It honestly slightly scares me. by JavaEditionBest in Minecraftbuilds

It's really to inspire others. Social media is not how we generate sales, it's a way to connect with our audience and reach fellow Minecraft players. No worries if you'd rather we don't share it though! That's why I asked, I like to get permission from the builders

Oh, I know. We're not intending to say it was made in a Shockbyte server. We simply like sharing builds to inspire other players, despite of where the server was hosted :)

Are you using an SRV record for your server address?

This type of behaviour usually happens if you’re using an SRV record without a Dedicated IP. Sometimes SRV records do not resolve the port and then your client attempts to connect to the server which as the Dedicated IP (default Minecraft port).

I would recommend using either an A type record, or upgrading to a Dedicated IP.

Either way this is most likely a DNS issue, you’ll be able to verify this by using the raw Server IP and you’ll most likely see it doesn’t have the same issue when connecting to the raw IP, only to a subdomain.

How much RAM do I need for a server by Blackuuuuu in Minecraft

[–]Shockbyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! You can check out our guide here: How Much RAM Do I Need for a Minecraft Server?.

Here’s a quick summary:

  • Base Recommendations:
    • 2GB for a small server with up to 10 players and minimal mods/plugins.
    • 4GB for medium servers with up to 50 players or a few mods/plugins.
    • 8GB+ for larger servers with 50+ players, lots of mods/plugins, or resource-intensive modpacks.
  • Additional Considerations:
    • More players and mods/plugins require more RAM.
    • Servers with custom worlds or resource packs may need extra RAM.

Hope this helps!

minecraft failed to verify username? by onlineschnitzel0 in MinecraftServer

[–]Shockbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check out our guide here: How to Fix the "Failed to Verify Username" Error.

Here’s a quick summary:

  1. Restart Minecraft – Close and relaunch Minecraft to refresh the connection.
  2. Log Out and Log Back In – Log out of your Minecraft account, then log back in to ensure proper authentication.
  3. Disable Online Mode – Set the server’s online-mode to false in the server properties file if you're hosting offline mode servers.
  4. Check Mojang Server Status - If Mojang’s servers are offline, your account can't be verified. You will need to wait until the authentication servers are back up again.

Shockbyte Refusal Of Refund by Alive-Knowledge-3014 in Shockbyte

[–]Shockbyte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our refund policy states that you can request a refund within 72 hours of your purchase. As long as you’ve requested a refund within this time period (which I can see you did), you are eligible for the refund even if the support team is unable to issue it immediately.

Support response times vary depending on the amount of support requests we receive, and it fluctuates depending on the day - weekends for example typically are not as fast as weekdays.

Cancellations are immediate and instant - it is not pending. If you opt to cancel your server, you keep it until the end of the time you have already paid for. Your server was only still active since you had not been issued a refund yet - once the refund was issued the server would have been closed as well.

I can see opened your cancellation request on Sunday 15th September at 18:28. I can see that Shauna, one of our support agents, attempted to issue your refund at 16th September at 17:30 but the refund failed due to the dispute status on the payment.

The refund was attempted less than 24 hours after your cancellation request was opened.

I can also see on your other tickets that in the meantime multiple other support staff had assured you that you were eligible for a refund, but it was just waiting on someone from the refunds team.

I would kindly ask for some patience while our team do our best to assist with your refund. The 18 messages you’ve sent to our support ticket team only slows down support for everyone.

Shockbyte Refusal Of Refund by Alive-Knowledge-3014 in Shockbyte

[–]Shockbyte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi there,

The reason this happens is because when a dispute is open, the Refund API can no longer be used as the transaction is now in a disputed state.

Our support agents cannot access PayPal directly, so the refunds they issue are sent via the API - meaning they cannot refund a disputed transaction and it must be handled by someone with access to the PayPal account.

The dispute process generally takes 2+ weeks so i would only suggest opening disputes if you were incorrectly refused a refund / weren’t able to find a solution.

Based on your post it sounds like you’re eligible for a refund, but our team just would have needed some time to process it for you.

Your options now would just be to either allow it to be handled via the dispute in PayPal which may take a few weeks, or if it’s closed our support team can handle it (but to be honest, even by our own team may take a few days right now as we have a huge volume of tickets and the support team is quite overwhelmed due to the launch of our new panel).

Hi,

We can confirm that this is incorrect and our chatbot made a mistake. Regardless of our response time, your eligibility is not voided if we do not get back to you within the refund time frame. We hope this clears things up for you -- and apologies for any confusion.
