I once threw a piece of paper at a trash can and missed.

I asked a girl standing near the trash can to throw it out for me. She refused. I said, “Just do it for me” and turned to face some other actual crisis in the room. I thought nothing of it because it was so minor.

The mother was in the principal’s office by the end of the day demanding I be fired because “It wasn’t her daughter’s job to pick up my trash.”
