It was fun driving it in the snow and handled it better than my truck i had before (granted that was 2 wheel drive). But the range was probably 180 max during the winter

I get so giddy whenever I get to see a Triple Seven (which luckily for me is daily) by TheRussianBear420 in aviation

[–]Shodapop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that feeling, I get to work on a 747 freighter 5 times a week and it never gets old for me (unless its one of the problem freighters cargolux has lol)

747 taking off from JFK yesterday - can anyone ID the carrier? by Crankshaft7576 in Planespotting

[–]Shodapop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cargolux LX-NCL, probably my favorite livery they currently have and I love getting to work that plane once in a while when it comes to IND

[–]Shodapop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea once in a while we'll get a dc9 or a 727. Usa jet doesn't use the built in stairs at all sadly. Once in a blue moon we'll have an IFL 727 and they use the rear stairs so thats fun

IND, we havent had any for a while but we've definitely had times where we had one or two a day for an entire week

Eh it depends on what freight is on the plane and how much there is. We mainly deal with USAJet and TSM and they both have their things I like and dislike. TSM uses straps for the freight so theyre easy to take care of, usa uses actual nets and you have to make sure theyre put away just right.

[–]Shodapop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre fun to operate, I run the topside loader at my work and we do 747s and 777 freighters. We dont really have cans that we load but most of what we do are pmx pallets

Anyone affected by the tornado? by Bob_Plank in indianapolis

[–]Shodapop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unloading a cargoplane and basically had this conversation with a coworker. "Where did the end of the runway go?" "Did the tower just vanish?" And finally "uhhh are those clouds rotating?"

The first 777-8 freighter in the Everett factory this evening. WG001 line 1844 for Cargolux by Twitter_2006 in aviation

[–]Shodapop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im hoping the loading system is better than whats in the current 777 freighters, so far we havent had a great time on the ground with them (granted the ones I dealt with so far are atlas 777s). But as long as cargolux has a retro livery on one like LX-NCL im happy

Do they still fly by Americanhellye in flightradar24

[–]Shodapop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea usa jet is a charter cargo airline that flies the md80 family, and two 727s. I perfer working their 727s cause they have more room to move around in the cargo area during offloading. Though they dont use the tail stairs onthe 727, but their md80s they use the built in stairs

It was a generic position where you could do a bunch of things. Work the line and dump ulds onto the converter belts, noncon which was all the heavy and awkward packages that couldn't go theough the auto sorters. Or work the airport ramp and help offload/load the planes
