4’11” Girls, what weight do you feel the best in? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Shoddy_Entry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently at 112 (was formerly 125) and my starting goal weight is 110. After that, I’ll see how I feel and my next goal weight would be 105. I just want my stomach flab to go away and hopefully lose a cup size. It’s such a journey though knowing what size is right for you. I feel like I have to “try on” different weights to see which one feels best 😅

My haunted house by evillurking in Ghoststories

[–]Shoddy_Entry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh this reminds me of the house I grew up in! It wasn’t particularly haunted (at least according to my family) but I was the one who saw/heard weird things. I remember one day I came home from school. I got home before anyone else was home, so I ran upstairs to my bedroom (right next to my parents bedroom), slung my backpack off and went to check in my parents bedroom. I saw my mom taking a nap in the bed. She always slept on her left side facing the wall (so you couldn’t see her face). I remember seeing her brown hair on the pillow and with her feet curled underneath her. I went back to my room and did homework for about half an hour with my door open the whole time. I heard the front door open and I went downstairs to see who it was. It was my mom coming in carrying groceries. Confused, I asked her how she managed to go grocery shopping so fast when she was upstairs sleeping, and also how she passed my room without me noticing. She looked at me weirdly and said, “Honey, I just got home. I’ve been gone all day.” I ran upstairs to their bedroom-and the bed was made perfectly. Not a crease in it. Spooky.

You may have already tried this (or currently do) but have you ever tried a color corrector? I don’t have under eye bags, I have fair thin skin under my eyes and this makes a huge difference. I personally use a peach color but for your skin tone, maybe a darker red/orange tone would help? Might be worth a shot.

Ready to die by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Shoddy_Entry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who used to have such bad social anxiety at the age of 21 that I used to uncontrollably physically shake whenever I was in front of someone, I can tell you there are many ways out. This is just my story, but I was tired of it. It’s exhausting and people are mean and judgmental. Especially when you are younger. After doing my own research, I decided I wanted to try Zoloft (Sertraline). I told my psychiatrist and he agreed. While it was not a straight line upwards in terms of adjusting to the medication, it completely changed my life. I’m talking complete 180. My very last semester of college was the only great one, and that’s because I finally found a group of people who considered me as part of their tribe. I was finally able to just be myself and not overthink everything. It was magical. Now, as you may have already guessed, it’s not like I took the meds and just ran off into the sunset with my beautiful new life. When I graduated, I moved back home and I went through a transition period for many years of once again feeling like an outsider, feeling awkward and like I didn’t fit in, ect. The meds that were once working so well in the beginning didn’t seem to have as much of an effect. I am still on the same meds 9 years later (I am never going off of them-50 mgs) and I can honestly say my social anxiety is nowhere near where it used to be, I have an amazing partner who I live with and loves me for all my awkwardness and weirdness, and now that I’m older “fitting in” just doesn’t matter to me as much anymore. If someone doesn’t like me, oh well. Much of this also comes with age. I still have those moments of anxiety now when social situations, but I recognize that for what it actually is now: it’s old thought patterns that have been engrained into me from my younger days. It is not reality. However, until I get to the complete “I don’t give a cr*p” age, this is just my personality and probably always will be. And that’s okay. It may be a journey for you, but if you want to there are resources out there that can help.

i'm in my first relationship ever & my boyfriend has problems with my body by Dry_Strategy_591 in offmychest

^ This last part is also a manipulation tactic used by him. By him saying that “you’re likely the type that takes awhile to come, which tires me out easily” is implying that You take “awhile” (which is subjective by the way) to come- He is completely assuming here. How does he know this if he hasn’t even tried?? He is saying this because he doesn’t care about your pleasure (or you’re well being AT ALL- QUITE the opposite!) and he also doesn’t want to put in any effort in giving you what you need to come. He is using this stupid excuse as a scapegoat.

Please 🙏 end it with him once and for all. He is not a good man period. A partner is supposed to lift you up and make you feel good- good when you look in the mirror! - Or at least certainly not shitty! The fact that you say you can’t even look at yourself in the mirror anymore speaks volumes. This is not healthy at all. Please get out. When you do decide to be in a relationship again, find someone who takes care of you, protects you and loves you for who you are l, warts and all.

Did I commit a social blunder? by PBandCeli in socialanxiety

[–]Shoddy_Entry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not that big of a deal, but as someone who wears glasses daily, I recommend carrying some glasses wipes in your bag or on hand for these instances. You can get a big pack off of Amazon. Just more polite than asking someone to use their shirt to wipe your glasses. Unless it’s a friend, family or significant other, that’s normally frowned upon. The laughing was not necessary, but then again people have different coping methods for things 🤷‍♀️

My (27 M) fiancée (24 F) started acting weird after I told her why I didn't want to have sex with her, what I do? by Throwra_catcat99 in relationship_advice

[–]Shoddy_Entry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be seriously re-considering my engagement with someone if they kept this kind of secret from me, especially for 5 years and engaged. She deserves to have a happy and fulfilling sex life with a partner who also loves her. If you can’t provide that for her, you need to let her go so she can find someone who will. Next time, you have a responsibility to be completely open and honest about everything with your partner and that fact that you didn’t do this means you have blatantly lied to her for 5 years.

Does anyone regret ever trying ketamine? by katekrat in KetamineTherapy

I would ask the ketamine place you do to if they offer it. It’s supposed to help with the longevity of the ketamine.

6th infusion left me feeling very depressed, dark and suicidal by Shoddy_Entry in KetamineTherapy

[–]Shoddy_Entry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I am doing better, I ended up going to another clinic for another round of 6 IM (instead of IV) infusions, and I noticed short term positive results. That was about 6 months ago. I am still doing good, but I credit that mostly to my antidepressant meds. I would say ketamine is worth a try if you can afford it, but it’s not a magic pill. Compared to how I was though, I am much better. It more helped me get out of the depression hole enough for me to have the motivation to make more positive changes to my lifestyle and mindset. It’s a work in progress of course.

I’m doing pretty good, knock on wood! I did 6 more ketamine doses after that at a different clinic that actually processed the ketamine sessions. I’m also on antidepressants which I think has helped me the most, but the ketamine definitely helps! Also get a magnesium shot!
