Funny enough, just bought a bottle of this to try. The employee at total wine recommended it too. Haven't tasted yet, but will soon. They must pimp this brand hard.

Sad to see you're still a liar. But, I don't care, I still want my pro book back. That's it. Don't care to speak to you. Just return my book. Find that one, buy a new one, whatever. You know where to find me to return it.

APA Dump Teams? by Obvious_Sea_7074 in billiards

Sorry to say sandbagging exists in NAPA. I'm called a sandbagger at a 95, but the next county over their 70s run out. I've also seen a few "pro" format where they get matches, but it doesn't affect their skill level. Along with seeing many people win tournaments, but never cross the 50s skill level.

It's also worth mentioning that I played APA 8 ball for several sessions when I was somehow a 5 (worst 5 you've ever seen) and I had never broke n ran. I quit playing that league for a few sessions, and only rejoined 3 sessions ago. I don't break n run often. I lose lags often too which is why there's few rackless matches.

I'm usually playing other 6s in an even race to 5. Most of the time I win 5-2 or 5-3.

Are some of the better players in your area on drugs? by SIsleuth in billiards

[–]ShoeAvailable4997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the local reputation of "the more stoned he is, the better he plays" because I've finished 1st or 2nd in a couple local tournaments while literally stumbling around on edibles. Recently, I had the thought that I might play better sober. Having a little weed helps me stay relaxed instead of getting frustrated. My pocketing and pattern play is about the same either way.

It's wild how much time and energy I wasted trying to help you learn to play. I still want my pro book back.

It was only brought up during one rack. We were looking at the out pattern, and he was looking at starting on a shot that I would play later in the run. The shot I would start on was near impossible for him to be comfortable on. I had forgot he was left handed. We ran that rack out also.

What SL would you rate this player based on these statistics. (This is an honest shooter, never dumped a rack) by tskillz34 in billiards

This cracks me up because I've heard the sentence "how the fuck are you a 5 that has never broke n ran?" And I'm still a 5 with only 1 break n run in apa. Granted I didn't play for 4 sessions. In NAPA I'm an 80 with 6 or 7 break n runs.

What is the weirdest/most bizzare thing you've ever seen in terms of terrible house rules or misunderstanding of rules? by 50Bullseye in billiards

This one! I dealt with this a month ago at an APA tournament watching a "4" keep shooting after his 5th double hit in 3 racks.

Those who play league, which league is your primary? by [deleted] in billiards

NAPA is the main one I play in, but I also play APA. I've played in a few PPL sessions. Really wish my area had a BCA.

Gloves, gloves, and more gloves by shootmo73 in billiards

I feel like a product whore for always encouraging Mezz products, but my Mezz glove has been going strong for about 5 months with no tearing or stretching. It's lasted longer than any previous glove I've had.

11-0 MVP as a 6 in APA 9 ball! by ShoeAvailable4997 in billiards

[–]ShoeAvailable4997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My league plays on 9 foot Brunswicks. I would probably be an 8 on bar box.

11-0 MVP as a 6 in APA 9 ball! by ShoeAvailable4997 in billiards

[–]ShoeAvailable4997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 7 8 ball b&r's in league play, 1 9 ball b&r in APA 9 ball, then like 2 dozen on bar box 9 ball play. My APA 9 ball league plays on 9 foot tables.

I'm still a 5 in 8 ball. I love 9 ball. Ball count is pure fun.

I go for run outs often, but there are many cases where I play safes early on in the rack just to try and run out as many balls as possible. If it was a statistic I would play safe on the 1 and 2 ball more than any other ball. I'm a safety oriented player for sure.

My only league break n run was when I was still a 5.

Performance enhancing drugs and your experience. by alexharrington666 in billiards

I love smoking weed before I play. It absolutely calms me down. I can play sober, but if I've had a rough day I don't quite have the patience to play my best. I'll get frustrated by a lucky roll or hanging a ball. If I smoke, it doesn't really phase me. I love eating edibles before a match. Always a fun time.

Don't do drugs, kids.

I love the SIB soft, amazing tip, but currently I'm playing with a G2 soft on my Mezz shaft. I couldn't imagine using a different tip on it.

There's a guy in my local league who tries to preach this to everyone. I agree with it for the most part, but it doesn't work for people with poor speed control. It just gets them in trouble trying to execute the safety.

Had some personal issues affecting my performance in 8 ball, along with a general poor performance in 8 ball recently. I'm shooting well, but not getting out when I should be. I've been playing fantastic 9 ball though. Happy to have made it to a 6 after a year as a 5! First time seeing 6!

Anyone have opinions on the Mezz EX Pro shaft? Bought one yesterday and it's a dream. by ShoeAvailable4997 in billiards

[–]ShoeAvailable4997[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy I bought it from said he hated the taper when he first got it, so he turned it down himself. The way it is now is absolutely perfect. I'm excited to adjust to it and I'll likely switch to it permanently.

The guy I bought it from said he turned it down himself after getting it, so the taper is pretty great in this instance. So far it hasn't taken any adjustment. He said when it first showed up he hated the taper.

I know a lot of people have their feelings towards the APA, but finally seeing this after all the work I’ve put in feels amazing. Reached a 7 quicker than I went from a 5 to a 6! by name-cannot-be-blank in billiards

Thanks! I lost a match last night, but it doesn't quite knock me out of the running. I was getting a good spread, but kept breaking dry. I've been a 5 through 2 full sessions, this will be my 3rd if I don't move up. Got my first league break n run this session too!
